The Bristol Rovers dustbin thread on OTIB makes me smile. Over 630 pages dedicated to our little club. You would have thought that being such a huge club with a return match against man city and money to spend on new players that they would have more important things to discuss.

Well tbh I thought championship might be a step to far especially going into a team with better players. He was only ever going to be 2nd or 3rd string and I expect more money to be be spent on better players

Less than a month ago he was setting up the winner against Man Utd for god sake! and it is officially a library... www.otib.co.uk/index.php?/topic/192229-atmosphere-in-the-league/

I'm a Taylor fan and wish we had him ~ but he will never be 1st choice over there Agree, but I wonder if the manner of his departure leaving a bitter taste would be mean too much baggage for bringing him back. I still think it was a PR stunt that worked perfectly for SL and LJ rather than genuine footballing reasons and MT will be surplus next season.

I don't think MT would want to come back nor would many supporters

I think city are not using matty taylor in a way that suits him. At rovers in the early days he worked his socks off for the team but didnt score that many. Then he got a bit lazier or not quite as industrious and did a bit more goal poaching and bingo! the goals flowed. At city they play a high press style that requires the front 2 to work hard to pressure opponents defence. City have got the old matty taylor in consequence not the striker he evolved into.

I'm still firmly of the belief that they have been playing above themselves this season.
Once Man City knock them out, the motivation and belief will be gone, and the rest of the season will be more like last year.
They might yet call upon the snake once the goals dry up completely.

⚽️ #BristolCity v Derby County: Fielding, Wright, Flint, Baker, Magnusson, Brownhill, Pack, Smith, Bryan, Paterson, Reid. Subs: Steele, Kelly, Eliasson, Walsh, Kent, Engvall, Diédhiou. #DERvBRC
Taylor not even on the bench! I think he'll be off either this winow or more likely the summer IMO.

I'm not sure what you mean by playing above themselves? You make that sound like luck and you don't get where they are in the league or cup by luck. To their credit they have looked very good when I have watched them. I however agree that they will slip away but that is because they haven't got a big enough squad to maintain the cup run and get promoted IMO, the cup run will deflate them and the style of football they play is high energy so they will tire.

You have to fear the worst for City with the side Man City are starting with!

Interesting to hear Angus Scott on 5 live. Those of you of a certain age will remember he front HTVs football coverage in the 90s. Confirmed he is a Shithead tonight so that puts an interesting slant on biased reporting in the media.
Also 5 live kissing City's ass talking to Angus Scott about his presenting gig on Bein sports in the middle east, they said to him something like "so the middle east knows where Bristol is now?" - no mention of the fact that we are owned by Jordanians.
I wouldn't normally get wound up by stuff like that but it clearly shows that these idiots know nothing about lower league football and can't even be arsed to do any research when they find themselves in a footballing backwater like Bristol.

Wasn't it really an open secret over his allegence? His brother, Steve, was publically an ardent City supporter. Somebody mentioned Radio Bristol's Colin Howlett and Phil Tottle on another thread, two people who I would like to think were fairly well respected by both sides.
