Oh my days. I have not bothered with this thread until now as it is City related and I do not come on here to discuss that lot. But as this thread has quite a lot of pages of comments, I thought I would take a look and see what the fuss is about. I get the hatred that a lot of us have for them after what they have done and continue to do to us. Living in South Bristol throughout my childhood, I had it tough. But even I can give due credit to them for this evening and to be honest, they deserve credit for this season too really. Hopefully Man City stuff them and put them in their place in the 2nd leg and they drop out of the top 6 of course. But fair shout to them so far this season and it hurts saying it. But I cannot believe some of the comments on here aimed at gasheads who say fair shout to City. There have been a few Rovers fans that I follow on twitter who have offered praise to City for their effort tonight and as a result have been pretty much been targeted and crucified by other Rovers fans. Now I know only 1 set of fans in Bristol who turn on their own. Well I thought it was 1 set of fans. Unfortunately, some of us has have fallen to their level of fickleness. Of course some of you have pure hatred for City. But don't turn on your own to prove how much you hate City for goodness sake. Just look at the "dustbin" thread on the OTIB, that will tell you all you need to know about what the 82er's think about Rovers. why do you even bother to go on there site?, I've never ever thought of looking at it. Hate is very strong word, wouldn't waste my energy on it, I've been brought up in south Bristol, so had my fair share of sh**, but this concept that there different people!! Utter nonsense. UTG |

If it was us playing Man City in a semi of a cup trust me no matter what the result win or lose or draw the SH.T would be all over us , no way would they have the grace to praise us ! Lucky to win first leg lucky to get a draw sh**e team if we lost ! If c'ty fans took to social media to praise us they would get ripped to pieces by their own fans , I too do not like to discuss that lot but I will not praise them for fuc£ all ,1982 will happen again one day the bubble will burst ! UTG I'm sorry but your first statement is total rubbish. I've seen with my own eyes on the comments section of Youtube beneath the Gas-Dagenham highlights, City fans coming on and saying "fair play" and "well done Rovers". I find it ridiculous when people tar any group of people, including a fanbase, all with the same brush. I have people in my family who I banter with constantly about them supporting City, and I truly hate that they're miles ahead of us and I hate when they win, but my City-supporting mates and family are still good people despite their misguided choice of football team, and they would have the same humility to praise us when the time as right, as some Gasheads have to praise them. I know Rovers fans who are really good people, and I know some who are dispicable bell ends. Whats the difference? |

I did laugh when I heard that ‘E-I-O’ song with ‘Johnson is our King’ at the end. They really are fickle Lady Gardens. Then again, they’d probably say the same about us if they saw the gasheads that have been calling for DC’s head this season. That’s far too sensible for this thread nottsgasheadal! 😀 |

Still want them to get beaten heavily in the second leg, though. |

Wow. Just wow! 😳 I thought I had seen it all until today. What is all this infighting about the sh**? f**k the sh**! Let them get on with it. They didn't get hammered and they are getting deserved praise for giving it a go. However, no need for us to have a love-in with the sh**, or equally to act like we are ravaged with envy, or to try and jump into bed with Man City fans in a pathetic attempt to make us seem as important to the rest of the world?  !!!! FFS. It is so embarrassing and it will come back to bite us hard in the ass one day. It's all over the media and social media as you would expect. It would be exactly the same if Rovers had given a good account of themselves against arguably one of the best teams in the world right now. As for saying it would be the same if the shoe was on the other foot, well I have to disagree there. I can't recall them mocking us in their droves when we narrowly lost to Chelsea? Can anyone? I can remember Teds saying that they thought Rovers would get massacred, but instead I heard fair play as Rovers gave a good account of themselves. Maybe some 10 year olds in a playground made a joke about Rovers losing to Chelsea, but I didn't notice the sh**e like what some fellow Gasheads have spouted. It makes us look like we are totally and utterly jealous when in truth most of us just want to see Rovers evolving. Maybe the Teds doing well has highlighted our clubs stagnation, but to start firing off at Ted's being happy isn't the way to go. Who are we signing? How are the plans progressing with the training ground? UTG. |
