***g hell. DC needs players in, it's beginning to look like a lack of ambition from those negotiating. How do Dagenham need more strikers? They scored 6 tonight in a 6-6 draw! If anything they need defenders... I guess we just can't compete financially with the likes of Dagenham and their hugely lucrative attendances? I guess not I'm sorry, but not being able to get a winger in who has been promoted from this division twice (presuming it's Jolley...) because we won't pay a certain % of his wage is water poor. We deserve to be down here with that lack of ambition, it's completely different to signing someone on a three-year-deal or something - and we used to do that for years!!

Not surprised, as DC seems to be having to recruit with an empty cash box. His hands are tied. We are now looking in the bargain basement in Lidl and B+M. "We are now looking in the bargain basement" what the hell do you call the sh**e has he got in already?

Just back The first half was as bad as anything I have seen for a long time. No idea what the idea was in dropping the three nor what tactics we were playing given what was in front of us. In a nutshell Barnet were all over us and I cannot remember us threatning their goal with any meaning until the 40th minute, roughly. We managed to make Akinde look pacy, clever and threatning. We were outplayed, outpaced all over the pitch. 2-0 was a very fair reflection. The 2nd half we were better for 20 minutes, went backwards and were then defending desperately including clearing off the line. Last ten Barnet were playing American style "Prevent Defence" and although we had loads of possession, a couple of balls bouncing around in the penalty area and apart from one decent move, never really threatened.
My view is that the club is still spiralling downwards...the defence can be flat footed, the midfield has zero creativity and there appears to be very few goals in the forward line.
Its chaotic it seeme, on and off the pitch.

The other stuff we will have to disagree on somewhat. Still, totally deflated tonight.

Some interesting (albeit damning) comments from Barnet fans...
'Brizzle looked very average - there didn't appear to be any real quality in their side. At present they don't look good enough to be challenging for promotion.'
'Despite rovers huffing and puffing in the second half they didn't look like scoring.'
'As I envisaged Rovers looked a decent outfit yet incredibly unspectacular.'
When DC tries to bring in players of proven quality to change this, he is told they are 'too expensive'. Given we've spent a long time signing utter wasters on expensive three-year-deals, part of me cannot understand this. Particularly when our winger was supposedly a three-month-loan.

Its chaotic it seeme, on and off the pitch. I was there too and see it differently. In the first half we gave Akinde a 5 yard start for the first goal. We didn't play that well. Was it as bad as anything I've seen? No. In a nutshell Barnet we're not all over us. That's a bit over the top. The second half we changed formation and gave it a good go. Unfortunately, we didn't take any of the chances we created. We have a problem as it's obvious the players can see that we are a good winger and striker short. We lost away to Barnet 2-0. It really isn't the end of the world. If we get some additional players then we might improve. Personally, I blame DC for tinkering with the team. The fans gave him the benefit of the doubt. A win Saturday is a must otherwise the knives will be out. His record doesn't look good. If things haven't improved by the time we play FGR then clearly there will need to be changes.

I'm sorry but at this point in time we have some strikers. Until we have a winger who gives them some chances to miss I think we should persevere. Give Ellis a run. I realise that won't be popular. But just tell the kid to go out and do his best and enjoy himself. Will DC have the balls to tell us why he tampered? It's all well and good if you're Chelsea or Manchester City but we just don't have the players to f**k around. And this being tired and needing a rest. FFS you're footballers. You only go out and play once or twice a week. How Dam tired can you get playing 90 minutes of football?

Opinions eh Rich We created nothing in the first half, had no width, were second to almost every ball and the pace and strength of Akinde and his midfield coming on behind him had a us scrambling. Yes both goals could have been prevented but both came as a result of their pace up front. The second, aided by sloppy goalkeeping, came straight from an attempted cross into their box. The second half Brown made an impression on the left, I cant say overlapping, because there was nobody to overlap. Btw, Sinclair looked completely out of his depth.

With a new keeper would have stuck with Parkes and dont think Lockyer is up to it at right back. Still time but probably overly harsh due to last season. Anyone other then the bus w*nker and Oldie at the game ? someone inbetween that spectrum of sunshine and Thunderstorms would be good ?? Uncalled for. Just spotted this. I'm an inbetweeners fan. Inbetweeners 2 very funny. This comment less so. From my memory the only people who found it funny were the actual inbetweeners and they were in a car! The people at bus stop didn't find it funny. I'm Sorry for you that you thought it was appropriate to use. Originally I think it was a verbal and visual joke. Doesn't really work on a forum.

Viewpoint of a Barnet fan, posted on the IF:-
Hi, Barnet fan in peace. Just wanted to say fair play to all the Gas fans that made the trip, M4 being shut for the journey home couldn't have helped much.
From what I saw of your team you will be comfortably in the top 8 at the end of the season and it would be no surprise if you ended up above us in the table. Don't get too down on the team, you've had a tough start and need to play a few weaker sides to get into your stride.
Anyway look forward to visiting the mem later in the season and good luck against Altrincham at the weekend.
