Strange result given Stockport's home form, not only did they concede 5 goals but also didn't have a shot on target! For all MT's talk of L1 being a tough league this season, Wycombe are top and Mansfield and Lincoln are 4th & 5th, none of which are hardly L1 big spenders. Which backs the point that L1 is tough? Tough is the key word. Wycombe are never easy on the eye but they’re always a horrible “tough” side and that’s why they usually do well at this level. Barton/ Garner ball was never going to work at this level, now we’ve got a manager who hasn’t got us quite clicking yet and the football ain’t the best but we’ve got a much better chance of staying up than if we were trying to be pretty. I still think Taylor needed/ still needs a midfield general to grab a grip of the game in the centre of the pitch , Ward can do that but is injury prone and always seems to get injured just as he’s getting up to speed and match fitness after the last injury. It pains me to say it but With our budget Wycombe is the sort of club we should be looking at as the kind of system and style that we need if we’re going to ever get in the top 6. Or we could sack Taylor because the fans think the footballs dull, bring in another Barton / garner type and get probably relegated.

Well we scored 3 against Charlton Burton and weve actually scored a decent amount considering none of our strikers have looked up to it yet this season. The goals have been shared throughout the team which is good in a way because IF our strikers can start finding the net then scoring will be even less of a problem. Defensively we look shakey but I can’t remember the last time we didn’t look shakey at the back. Personally I’m enjoying watching Rovers this season more than I did Barton , Tisdale or Garners league 1 sides. The only time i think we’ve been entertaining post DC was a couple of months in league 2 under Barton.

Apart from first half against Charlton I find hard to believe any football fan is enjoying watching ROvers this season, no idea what your issue is with JB but we clearly didn't got promoted and then AC made L1's player of the year for just a couple of months entertaining football.

We were pretty atrocious in our league 2 promotion season until January tbf. In league 1 the following season we were ok until around Christmas then it went tits up and we went from bad to worse until he was sacked. I never had any faith that he was going to get the side to click the way we were playing last season before he was sacked. I don’t know if Taylor is the answer time will tell but if he was sacked tomorrow I’d be worried because I’m far from convinced the board would get anyone in who would do better with this group of players. Since Taylor scrapped the 3 CB’s formation results have improved. November will be an interesting month. If we’re in the relegation zone going in to December then I’d fully expect and want Taylor to be sacked but I’ve got a feeling we won’t be. We’ll see.

The next two games are crucial as if we fail to at least win one of those then the run of fixtures until the end of the year looks tough.

At what point in the last 40 years has anyone ever said, mid-season, 'the next two games don't really matter much because it's only mid season'?
I'll wager never. They are all crucial it seems.

Barnsley v Rotherham is live on Sky tonight, with a strange 7:15pm kick off.
So far Rotherham look as bad as their league position suggests they are, it's odd how Evans side is struggling.

Evans could be out of a job if Rotherham get beat in the local derby tonight. Barnsley 1-0 up.

Would not surprise me if he is on his way after tonight. Which is hardly surprising given how poor his team looked tonight, I assume he backed him heavily last summer but they look nowhere near being top 6 challengers. I always thought Evans was overrated but he's another manager Pirate apparently highly rated.

Maybe our point up there wasn't the great result we were told it was It was a good point at the time because they dominated and our keeper made 3 or 4 fantastic saves. If we’d lost 4-0 we couldn’t have had any complaints. I thought they looked decent that day and should have won but we can’t really judge a team on one match.
