Wembley looks empty for the L2 final. Two clubs in the bottom half of the tier for average attendance (Crewe 14th, 5.2k; Crawley 19th, 3.6k) so unsurprising but wish more could be done to make it a packed place. Cheaper tickets etc. I suppose not all clubs can take 40k to the capital... nice seeing the highlights flashbacks of Walker's chip, Igoe's late winner and one of my favourite Gasheads ever, Stuart Campbell, lifting the playoff trophy from the stands. Local schools? Though they'll probably rather watch Man City on the tellybox!

I think the AC spend was a good call. But we all knew how oxford would set up and play today and it reflects poorly on him they seemed so underprepared for it. Yes, you’re both right. I said earlier that I don’t think it will cost Evatt his job but having read the Bolton forum the fans are not happy!! Still think he’s a decent manager but Bolton seemed totally unprepared as you said percy. And it is the silly season when little seems to happen and nowadays people seem to think something should happen, good or bad. Immoleased in a way that Oxford did it, it shows that clubs of our size can do well when things come together. UTG! But posters were only saying last week we could never survive in the Championship when, if anything, Oxford, on the none playing side of the club, have an inferior set up to Rovers, with a 3 sided ground and a far smaller fan base.

I am finding it strange that the League two and League one playoffs seem to be really early. I remember when it was a bank holiday weekend, that made more sense to me. Then all focus could be on them, rather than today where (probably) more focus is on the last day of the premiership.

You think Oxford will last more than a Season in the Championship? I didn't think they had a hope in the Play Offs v Posh/Bolton so I guess anything is possible, Luton have shown that in the Premiership this season, given that they are really no bigger club than Oxford. If they don't then no doubt the money they earn will help them mount a top 6 challenge the following season.

The amount of injury goal keepers sustain and then miraculously recover from within minutes would have Gordon Banks turning in his grave.

Creepy we’re saved by VAR, thank Christ we didn’t have it when the Puddy cat blatantly brought the fishy player down! I think we were 1 down at the time and loosing our goalie would probably have spelt disaster and kept us in the non league abyss 😱. We could still be there now 🤪 UTFG!

So that’s league 1 sorted for next season and my does it look tough. Plenty for George et al to do before we kick off. You can see 10-12 clubs hoping for promotion: Birmingham, Huddersfield, Bolton, Rotherham, Charlton, Peterborough, blackpool, Barnsley, Reading and Wigan plus Wrexham and Stockport probably challenging. Lincoln, Wycombe, Exeter with a solid base. Got to hope steveange and Crawley struggle along with Burton and Cambridge. Plus maybe Mansfield and Northampton.

Got to hope there are four poorer teams over 46 games than us .. Crawley have hungry new owners with ambitions- they will be yet be another once small club that have overtaken us sadly.

Yes. Getting promotion is one thing. Staying there is another, perhaps more difficult. But then I’d guess you could have said that against Luton going up to the Championship and look what they did. Hard season ahead of Oxford but they won’t be worrying about that atm. Enjoy the promotion and then prepare. Good Luck to them. UTG!
