On another note, did anyone else feel uncomfortable when they stuck their robe on Messi? Feel like they he was forced and trying to force their culture. It wasn't about Qatar at that stage. It was about Messi and Argentina, it was their moment.

Can’t help feeling a dislike for Argentina - constant snide fouling; kicking the ball away; in the refs face; the delaying tactics; even messi at the ref after the Holland game was all unsavoury. Fair play they won but not a great side like some World Cup winners of the past

All hail the King (Messi!) 🇦🇷❤️ You do know that you can have two great players in the same match GGMI? Great game, great players some at their best. This match will live long in the memory. Well done Argentina, hard luck France but perhaps if they’d played for 80 minutes like they did for the last 10 minutes it may have been a different result. But that’s football I guess. UTG!

Football Italia was brilliant Sunday viewing. Even the likes of Parma. Buffon, Nesta, Thuram, Sensini, Dino Baggio, Fuser, Veron, Crespo, Asprilla and Chiesa. Brilliant crop of players. What a side. Great times. I lived in Rome in the early 2000s had regular season tickets for Roma taking my young son. We Watched Batistuta and Totti win the Scuddetto in our first season. In 2007, in the build up to our planned returnI introduced my son to the Gas that season. We returned for the games at the Millennium stadium and then later for Play offs at Wembley. A 10year old who was use to cheering the entrance of 'numero dieci il capitano do giallo rosso, Francesco TOTTI', at the theatre of the Olympic Stadium, now introduced to the Gas with 35k fans cheering on. A bit of a shock however when he got his season ticket for the Mem at the start of our first full season back. Glad to say he remains gas through and through

Give me both of those things for England

Can’t wait to watch us defend our title!

It was about Messi and Argentina, it was their moment. I wondered what that was about i thought he was a Harry Potter fan given all the Arabs seem to wear white robes, interesting that both finalists are owned by companies based in Qatar and Messi & Mbappe play for Qatar owned PSG! I wonder where they go from here as they can't staged the World Cup finals again anytime soon.

Can’t wait to watch us defend our title! Yet the irony of the whole thing is that when other teams come to the Mem and employ the same tactics of low level fouling to break up any rhythm, kicking the ball away, moaning to the ref, time wasting, dropping to get others booked etc. etc. people moan like hell on here and call those teams (Wycombe, Shrewsbury, Morecambe and others) various uncomplimentary names. If others do it and they win we whinge about it, if we do it and win we call it professional!! 😉 Football’s a funny old game, in the end it has little to do with reason or logic but all to do with emotions. UTG!

Glad to hear he remains gas through and through though!

Think that's missing with us sometimes, that win at all costs mentality. Absolutely agree. As an aside, I saw Martinez interviewed by Ben Foster a while back and he came across as a great guy.
Made me laugh when he picked up his golden glove award tonight too. 🤣

It was about Messi and Argentina, it was their moment. Should have been all about Argentina. I saw Waels insta post on the first goal and could see a considerable amount of empty seats where the main cameras were. Cameras really avoided showing that area for the whole game

Amazing! it was, my wife painted it, but it was taken at the end of the game.
