You're just using the red cards at Ipswich to fit a made up agenda, the reds at Ipswich weren't down to indiscipline, Thomas' was simply a defender trying to stop the Ipswich striker having a clean run on goal, Kilgour's clearly not even a red. If refs are anti Barton how did we manage to get promoted last season? God, the utter nativity of some fans Yes they must love Christmas Les 😂

Just got back!
Well well well... pantomime season early!? First time I've seen more than 5 hit against us. Has anyone seen more than 10 goals in a game? (I was at Eastville as am sure many others here were Charlton 5-5), which we thought at one time we might witness..
m o m Aaza whom is fast becoming the best step up from league 1 in our squad.
Something's happened to Belly. I would seriously think about resting him. At least 2 goals he could have done much better....but you don't need me to review the game, the farce speaks for itself.
I actually clapped at the end! Why not? The spectacle that unravelled was entertaining end to end and slapstick funny in parts.....if you have that sort of sense of humour!?
Disagree with some of JAB comments. Yes he should take responsibility, and like we tried to get back into the game and never gave up....but, after such an unprofessional defensive mix up more than once, people had paid to be there not to witness that, they are entitled to boo. It's not good enough. Substandard. How else are you supposed to express that if you've travelled and invested time and money?
Also I would contest..... attack is the best form of defence? Not with our attack. Not with our defence.

352 or 532 whatever you want to call it hardly ever seems to work at Rovers. Holloway did it and we played good football with very good players yeah but we still didn’t win anything then. Barton had us playing great football last season 4231 and he could have played that formation yesterday and had 3 of the 4 defenders in their correct positions. If he had I think we might well have won. It’s frustrating because it’s another home game with no win. We MUST go back to basics Saturday , if we’ve only got one right back , one left back and one central defender available like yesterday then go 4231 and put coutts alongside the centre back. Yesterday was a disaster from the minute Barton picked the side and formation. Lots of here saying we had no available defenders but we did he just put them in their wrong positions. Thanks socrates, spot on. I just wonder if JB made a rod for his own back when he criticised Cowley after the Pompey game for playing 442 and now feels duty bound to play a back 3 which, as you say, doesn’t usually work with us. I was going to say something about ‘going back to basics’ but kept it to defenders defending and attackers attacking because after shipping 6 goals at home that’s what you need to do. I think JB is an intelligent manager but he likes to show everyone how clever he is and yesterday he got it drastically wrong. It happens but we need a strong response this week. UTG!

Yeah he’s still in credit with me because he’s shown enough last season but yesterday was awful and if Kilgour and Thomas are our only two available centre backs then they should play there Saturday , not a 5 ft 6 defensive midfielder or a young right back / left back. As we’ve said back to basics, that’s what sides generally do after a heavy defeat and they tend to avoid defeat when they do it. UTG

You say not our attack and not our defence but three goals at home should be enough to win any game. Once we got the ball out of our half we actually looked good and could on another day have scored six or seven ourselves with just a little bit of luck. Loft and Collins on recent scoring are as good as anything in this division- both could have had hattricks yesterday and the three they did score were all excellent. Collins is developing into the next Matty Taylor IMO.

My take on the game yesterday. The game itself was a highly entertaining game from start to finish, end to end with plenty of chances. We were shocking defensively, completely unable to stop the Lincoln attack and every time the approached our goal I expected them to score. We had three recognised central defenders not in the team yesterday (not sure why Kilgour did not play), so it is not surprising that we struggled, but to be fair we have struggled defensively all season so far. Defence is our major problem and I have 100% confidence that JB will sort it out. Going forward, we were superb yesterday. Collins is on fire and took his two goals very well (could easily have had a hat-trick). Lovely unselfish set up for Loft as well. He is a quality player and deserves to be top scorer. Loft I felt had a good game, and is linking up well with Collins. On another day could have had a hat-trick as well. The positive for me is that we created a LOT of chances, and another day could easily have scored 6 of 7. Fair play to Lincoln, they had an amazing day out and were very vocal throughout. Yesterday was one of those days. Lincoln seemed to score every half-chance (some of which we would expect Belshaw to save easily), and we missed our chances. No time to panic, our team are doing many things right. We will not get relegated this season and JB will "stop the rot" at the back. You have to remember just how awful we were in September, October and even November last season. UTG. But then we signed anderson and he made the difference from an average sude to a promotion side Agree that Anderson was a key factor in our promotion, but we had already started showing signs of improvement by the time he was signed.

Agreed Richmace. Andersen himself did have some average games but people prefer to remember his good games. Andersen was a very important part of what became a very good team. Loft who many people would have got rid of could well become a very successful part of this team as could any of the players who were missing yesterday.

Think Rich and Steve make good points, we all know the defence needs both personnel (players fit again) and work, but there are huge positives in attack. 👍🏾

How many goals did he score and how many assists? Very unlikely we would have been promoted automatically without him, playoffs would have been achieved, probably.

Gauging opinion here… Would anyone be against dropping Evans & Harry Anderson against Accy? For me it would be a completely reasonable decision and at least half a shake up in the midfield that’s badly needed. Neither have been nowhere near it this season, something’s gotta change in that middle pack. At least while we’re so fragile in defence. Sometimes even the best players need a reminder that they are not indispensable, Spurs did it with Son yesterday, result, he came off bench and scores Hatrick!

So where do we go from here? We’ve had some difficult away games but have won none and lost two of 4 of the “easier” games at home. Another coming Saturday. Hopefully we see some players returning.
Ansii Hoole Thomas Gibson Gordon Rossiter Coutts Anderson Collins Clarke Loft
Time off for belly Evans and Finley needed I think. Would maybe go McCormick for Rossiter or Coutts as a number 6

Anyone see Bondy yesterday? He often watches from the East Stand, to get a different overview of the game.

Utterly bizarre game of football, more like a real life game of FIFA 21 & If our finishing was as good as Lincoln’s the result could have easily eclipsed the much talked about Rovers 5 Charlton 5 at Eastville many years ago.
