At times Belly looks a shadow of the confident ball claimer / stopper he was last season - There have been a few this season that have gone past him and I have thought 'Bloody Hell Belly' - he has saved far more though to be fair. Distribution has been eventful as well at times.
Yet to get even close to a penalty as well - looking like he has been reading from the Von Schitterschotten Dodge Ball manual ....
I think he has gone backwards since Anssi has started coaching him ...maybe just a coincidence and not having any defence in front of him makes him of course look more vulnerable.
That said .... I would still have him as first name on the team sheet.

Shocking managerial performance. Does he even care Now that is a question That's one thing I wouldn't say. His being is Bristol Rovers and he feels the pain as if it was his own body. I can question his judgement but not his commitment.

Agreed Richmace. Andersen himself did have some average games but people prefer to remember his good games. Andersen was a very important part of what became a very good team. Loft who many people would have got rid of could well become a very successful part of this team as could any of the players who were missing yesterday. How many goals did he score and how many assists? Very unlikely we would have been promoted automatically without him, playoffs would have been achieved, probably. That i guess is assuming another player wasnt signed instead. An alternative player may have scored a few and set up a few . We did however only achieve direct promotion by the skin of our teeth. So a playoff place may well have been the outcome. You could also argue that without Connor Taylor we would have barely made midtable.

So many managers on this forum! All know better than JB. Put in your CV's to the club, show us how good you are! FFS. How dare fans share their opinions🤔 Yes, and I think it’s a very legitimate opinion to question why he didn’t start with Kilgour, or bring him on at any stage. Put him in the middle of a three yesterday and I find it very hard to believe we wouldn’t have been at least a little bit more solid. It must have really hurt Kilgour to be left out, but football being what it is, it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s needed next Saturday.

I would still have him as first name on the team sheet. It’s probably down to having a defence that hasn’t resembled a defence this season too. Good keepers can look poor when they’re playing behind a very shakey defence that’s got no confidence and no consistency in the line up. Everyone’s struggling bar Collins and Loft.

Perhaps Kilgour is struggling to play twice a week after his knee problems, if not, it was a strange decision not to use him at all yesterday.

So where do we go from here? We’ve had some difficult away games but have won none and lost two of 4 of the “easier” games at home. Another coming Saturday. Hopefully we see some players returning. Ansii Hoole Thomas Gibson Gordon Rossiter Coutts Anderson Collins Clarke Loft Time off for belly Evans and Finley needed I think. Would maybe go McCormick for Rossiter or Coutts as a number 6 Hoole's most likely away on international duty. Is he going to play Whelan at full back then? Or maybe he will go for a back four and put Alfie there? - would make as much sense as yesterday's line up.

He’s had major knee problems and i remember last season he was struggling to play and train because it kept flaring up and swelling. I hope it’s not a Ledley King sort of problem as could be career limiting and he doesn’t seem the player he was a couple of years ago.

The point with Ledley King was that when he did play he was brilliant and he therefore missed odd games to ensure he was fit for the next game. Alfie has yet to show himself good enough to play at this level since Craig left and that was now in the distant past.

Just got back! Well well well... pantomime season early!? First time I've seen more than 5 hit against us. Has anyone seen more than 10 goals in a game? (I was at Eastville as am sure many others here were Charlton 5-5), which we thought at one time we might witness.. m o m Aaza whom is fast becoming the best step up from league 1 in our squad. Something's happened to Belly. I would seriously think about resting him. At least 2 goals he could have done much better....but you don't need me to review the game, the farce speaks for itself. I actually clapped at the end! Why not? The spectacle that unravelled was entertaining end to end and slapstick funny in parts.....if you have that sort of sense of humour!? Disagree with some of JAB comments. Yes he should take responsibility, and like we tried to get back into the game and never gave up....but, after such an unprofessional defensive mix up more than once, people had paid to be there not to witness that, they are entitled to boo. It's not good enough. Substandard. How else are you supposed to express that if you've travelled and invested time and money? Also I would contest..... attack is the best form of defence? Not with our attack. Not with our defence. Who the f*ck is Azza? Have we been recruiting in Jordan? Haha! Aaza is Aaron (Collins), but is in so much form like Gazza, he's Aaza! I know nothing of recruitment in or around Katie Price ...

Alfie has yet to show himself good enough to play at this level since Craig left and that was now in the distant past. Ledley King was a freak. The comparison was about the long term affect of chronic knee problems. Kilgour, like others before him, has never been the same. Jamie Shore and Holmes-Dennis would never have ended up at Rovers but for chronic injuries stopping them playing at their best level and forcing them into leaving their higher division clubs. I suspect Kilgour’s form and inability to string games together is linked to his injury. It’s a shame as a few years ago he was looking a really good prospect.

Can’t blame Belly for any of the goals in my opinion. Maybe it wasn’t obvious but goals 5&6 both took wicked deflections.

How anybody can question the ability and performances of Belly is imo ridiculous; he is top class.
Alfie bless him does his best; however, when fit and available Joey intends to play Thomas, Gibson and Connolly, Alf will then be back warming the bench.
All the Sunday morning managers on here, doing the usual, "don't like Joey, we no better routine", hold your nerve, Joey delivered last term, and I will not be surprised if he keeps BRFC in division 1 this season.

I think Joey does know best and I totally agree that we need to hold our nerve. It was a bizarre selection but then sometimes it can work out. Saturday it didn’t and criticism is par for the course in that situation. When we get some defenders back fit and a consistent selection of a back line is possible then I am pretty confident we will climb the table.
