An interesting read. Sounds like the judge told sainsburys to pull their finger out and stop arsing about!

" onerous disclosure exercise" come on Sainsbury's pull your onerous fingers out.
That article paints a damn sight more positive picture than the BPost article. Starting to think we might actually win this one, I wonder if the ultimate victory would be Sainsbury's told not only the £30m but also compensation for delaying completing thereby allowing us to build the UWE - well I can always dream.

Hmmm ... not that confident. We don't know the details of the contract and some of those that do (or know more than us) have gotten their money out (GD, Barclays) so I think it is in the balance. I hope beyond hope we have them by the nadgers ... but not sure.

Don't forget that article was written by our own firm of barristers so it will be slanted in our favour.

That is quite a different position to that reported where Sainsbury's said
"Sainsbury's lawyer Mark Wonnacott QC said: “If we're stuck with this contract it's as much in our interest to know that quickly as it is the club's."
Trying to stall for 3 months and put off the trial to 2016 sounds to me unreasonable once again, and perhaps a further example of them hoping we will run out of money or UWE will run out of patience. If their case was that strong you would think they would want this potential liability off their books as quick as possible.

I hope beyond hope we have them by the nadgers ... but not sure. That could be a good sign as when two funders pulled their money out, there was somebody there happy to stump up more cash. That at least says a more recent assessment indicates good chance of getting money back

GD didn't pull his money out. He took out a quarter of if, as he had purchased a new restaurant. He is still owed over half a million.
As for Barclays, they weren't prepared to loan us any more than we already had, to help fund the case, so we moved the lending to someone who would. I'm not saying that was sensible, just that that is the position.

Fair points made by Strage Gas and Gasincider; perhaps it was me being a miserable sod. On a different day I could have been more upbeat e.g. "If Sainsbury need until 2016 to make a case then it looks like their only hope is based around delaying tactics". We'll just have to wait and see.

The main reason that the New stadium has not been started is down to distructive ef forts of Trash Or the Green Party as they really are! Is there a view that we should stand a Rovers candiadte in May General election? I think we should, on a single issue 'Rovers and the New stadium' ticket". What do you think? Shall we get the ball rolling ASAP?...........

I think I remember, many years ago, that Charlton Athletic put up a number of people for election on the local council when they were trying the build their new stadium. I seem to recall it worked as well !

Good area for them, right sort of demographic as well I wish! Area full of sandal wearing, bearded teachers and leftie Green idiots - Waitrose is what they would all want! Or perhaps Holland & Barrett could open a HUGE superstore - they would definitely be keen on that one. Lentils and dried prunes anyone?

I see how us footy fans get a bad press now.
