I'm pretty sure BCC will not allow that because of access issues etc They approved a massive redevelopment a few years back. Can they now justify not approving a couple of new stands without being open to a (swift) legal challenge? Did we not have a council at that time that was "sympathetic" to our cause.... Sadly come the next elections we are in for a big shock in Bristol when our green friends may have a bigger say in our beloved city

I do, others do....it should't be that hard to support pro-Rovers candidates...?

I just hope NH isn't of a similar view as personally I'd sooner watch Rovers at the Mem than become next season's Hereford Utd, I too would be happy with a redeveloped Mem, partly because I'm not keen on all-seaters.(All that bobbing up and down while we try to see what's going on without obscuring the view of angry people behind.) But what about the now obligatory "revenue streams?" Would the Mem make us the necessary income? But I'll still be excited if the UWE goes ahead. Surely any income stream is better than none if we go burst? Whilst I still hope the UWE goes ahead the more this saga unfolds the less likley that seems, even if Sainsbury's are forced to pay up how do we meet the shortfall? I suppose that will be the ultimate irony, we get Judgment in our favour but can't raise the shortfall so Sainsbury's still don't have to pay up!! I still can't understand why we let the Mem development plans lapse before Sainsbury's had paid up, even if we assumed they would proceed?

Can such plans' approval just be renewed without doing the building? If so perhaps we should have. I don't comment much about the stadium except to ask questions and be happy or sad, depending on news. This is because I know as much about this as I do about quantum physics: it's fascinating but incomprehensible. Although the stadium is more important, being real. Although if course it isn't real. Yet. Although it is in theory. In one projection of the future. See what I mean?

Happy days..........Why are the Greens so popular in Bristol ? Are they popular with locals or is it people who have moved to the area ? They can't even get a candidate around here, they are laughed out of the place for being so un realistic about general matters. Genuine questions. You only need to see how Brighton runs with them in charge, bins are collected when they fancy as the bin men are always on strike and some of the Greens Council members are standing on the picket lines with the bin men !

We renewed once I assume we could continue doing that until somebody objected? The planning permission to redevelop the Mem has long since lapsed. You can only renew it for three years at a time and it most certainly has not been done continually. The last application to do this was in September 2011 (11/04047/R) and this application was withdrawn. Therefore, anything at the Mem will need full new application with all the new legislation that comes with it...

Just to lighten the mood. Lets assume Sainsburys get told to pay up and they buy the Mem site as per the contract. Rovers build the UWE and in the meantime Sainsburys try to flog the Mem site to anyone who will buy it in order to recover some of their losses. However, the sale contract is reliant upon planning permission being granted for the new use - whatever it may be. TRASH rise again and fight Sainsburys and the new purchaser to prevent the sale.
Who do you side with - TRASH or Sainsburys...
