It seems reality is sinking in.The South and East stand are both closed for this game so that means I for one will be unable to be there 'cause I can't stand for long periods. I hope the club is happy that they are letting down regular fans who have paid up front but still don't mind paying again. How much longer are we going to be taken for mugs? It’s all a sad state, the Season ticket pricing fiasco, the nonsense of games kicking off whenever to suit Sky, International breaks breaking up the Season for scheduled games, now this nonsense. I’m glad I’m watching local non league where they happily take cash, smile and enjoy fans. I’ve done two away games that’s it. The love is currently dead, although I was going to break my home duck for the Weston game, but I’m not going to a half closed ground, It will look awful on TV. Anyway Reading on Saturday. Ha! It really will.. especially given that the cameras are usually point East from West and it is the East side that will be closed!

The excellent pitch and camera location (west stand gantry) provide very good TV pictures of the game imo. However, even when well populated, the view of the half-length Chernobyl Stand, external staircases, terracing with sterile zone, pasty hut & turnstiles etc. just reek of 60's rugby ground, which is what it is. Embarrassing for the football club (and supporters) and a disgrace to Bristol.

I got absolutely slated on my opinion of bringing Nick Higgs back in a one day a week consultancy role, but did such a shambles ever occur under his tenure. As a GASHEAD which those currently in charge aren't, surely he'd have seen the pulling power of this game. The same Nick Higgs who was in charge when we were relegated to the Conference? No thanks. 🤡 He wasn't on the pitch or picking the team...

...Once again the powers that be (no longer know who that is, by the way) seem to have totally misjudged the situation and instead of a possible bumper crowd half the ground is shut... I think this is the key point. Yes many fans have a right to feel poorly treated by being unable to get their usual seat, or any seat at all. But it would at least be understandable if the crowd was so low that opening the whole ground just didn't make sense. However this is a game which has sparked excitement from both sets of fans, and clearly has potential for a bigger crowd than the 1st round would usually generate.

Genuine question….. who do we go to now with our gripes and moans now that Gorringe has gone ? Is there someone at the club with any clout that could be contacted asking why the East stand is closed for this game etc ? Clare McDonaghl is the Supporters Services Manager - which is the link between fans and clubs, poor woman.

clare@bristolrovers.co.uk is the supporters services manager, so presumably is the contact for supporters? Clare has sorted out a few ticket issues in the past and was always helpful, though that's going back a fair few years now. Will be gutted if the East Stand isn't open, always sit up there for the real cup games. I doubt Claire can help with the discussion taken to close the East Stand, I'd imagine that was taken well above her pay grade? Whilst Claire is unlike to have been involved in the discussions, she is the club's named person to act as the link with supporters. I think the post was originally titles Supporters Liason Officer, and every EFL was required to have a designated person. Claire was handed the poisoned chalice!

Claire has been passing the complaints onto the new commercial Manager, who made the decision.I think his name might be Mr Bates, seems like he has caused a bit of a nightmare, at least he slashed some of the prices.

I wasn't suggesting she should be the one to make decisions like that, but as her job title is Supporters Services I'd hazard a guess she serves the supporters and would be best placed to pass on any supporter feedback and suggestions we have?

Maybe the club have been reading our posts!
More of the stadium now being opened, should be a half decent turn out!!
Weston should bring close to 2,000, great stuff!!

507 extra tickets available for AWAY fans for the FA Cup fixture.
These are being sold in the same way the first batch were made available.
In general, the method being used will limit the "third party" attendees.
WSM AFC are offering coach tickets at a subsidised £10 cost. There will be a limit on the number of coach spaces available. This factor is one of the key reasons Away support numbers have to be restricted at present.
Some behind the scenes changes related to the South Srand have taken place which slightly increases the number of AWAY fans that can attend.
These small but significant changes will be useful if and when the East Stand development occurs.

Well at least the club responded to my emails and listened our complaints, although it is a bit strange that they are only opening up one block at a time in the east stand. With league gates falling and this being a local Derby the club should get some extra revenue in now.If it is a good game then hopefully a few of the Weston fans will come back and watch us again, we may pick up a few more supporters.

Very clever move by the board. Close both the East and South stands, get a public reaction and then give Weston another 500 tickets, open the East stand for home fans so as to fill the stadium. Do they think we are that stupid? By the way, I tried to have an input on Having a Gas but it was the Hoskin and Hargreaves brains trust not involving any comments from fans. Who do they think they are fooling.

That’s still the bare minimum we have to give them (15% of 12000) Why not just give them 4000 with the whole of the south stand if you ain’t gonna open it it for rovers fans
