What sort of attendance is expected. Kinda looking forward to it as should be a very good cup tie, but must admit I am a bit nervous. If there were replays I think it would be fine, but if it goes straight to pens, I am sure there will be a fair bit of nail biting going on. Total guess but think it’ll be 6.5-7k attendance. Winner !🏆

I hope the powers that be read this thread! What a poor way to run a business. I finally managed to get a ticket over the west terrace after first not being able to get a ticket. Asked after all the other season ticket holders who normally stand in that area to hear the same response, they couldn't get a ticket due to fans from the east relocated to the West, so didn't bother getting a ticket. My boy could only get on the thatchers, he said it was as packed as its been this season. In my opinion, today could and should of been a much higher attendance, the message being that fans, especially season ticket holders like to sit/stand in the areas they have their season ticket (football is a social thing) and by shutting parts of the ground really are putting fans off attending. Could of been a full house today.

We did not go today as our seats were not available. Seeing the masses of WSM fans in the stand makes me wonder why on earth we could not have been there. Would have only needed a handful of stewards more, club shot itself in the foot imho.

Completely unaware that this local Derby would intrigue fans and they would want to go .

I could understand if it was a northern non league side, but only opening part of the ground for what is essentially a local derby was crazy. Weston have played league clubs before and are always well followed. Should of been an 8k plus crowd in my opinion.

Do the owners really have any input in this type of decision or is it just left to TG's replacement and his team? I did find it a bit odd that at least a third of the South Stand wasn't open today, as what's the point in building a new stand then not fully opening it for every game?

Yes a wasted opportunity. It doesn’t take much to put many people off these days.
I had a fight to get a ticket as my West Stand seat (Season Ticket) was sold before I even realised tickets were on sale. Always used to get an email from the club but seems it’s not happening any more? I finally got one with a much worse view in the South West Stand but only because I could take a single space as my usual mate is on the other side of the world for a few weeks.
In the end I was feeling rough lunchtime and didn’t bother to go when I heard it was on the TV - ok only Channel 714 Radio Bristol but it meant warmth and comfort and no decisions about travel from Bath to The Mem and back.
As someone who has missed very few home games in the last 20 or so years I find it odd that I’m not that bothered in ‘being there’ any more. The toxic atmosphere at The Mem these days must be part of it and I think must be affecting the gates. However today’s gate could have been much higher imo. Was it a considered joint decision or did Mr Ritchie Bates (Master Bates alias Tosser?? ) make the decision to shut half the ground?
