His initial response was to congratulate her Then he realised he was missing a grifting opportunity when his idol, P**rs M**gan started off. Yeah, the world doesn't need another Morgan, he has enough *personality* about him for 10. Joey seems to be trying to be some kind of footballing Piers Morgan. It's not a good look, at all. I wonder what he wife makes of it? And I wonder what his daughter will think when she grows up and looks back at her Dad basically saying "women are rubbish at everything and should stay in their lane" 🙄 His Mrs seems to be on holiday every other week, probably trying to stay away from him now he is jobless has retired !

'A big sack of spuds that plays in goal for a girls team" Is Joey Barton trying to make himself unemployable? I was shot down every time I tried to mention how much I hated this guy and how he was the worst possible choice of a manager for Rovers. Well, not being one to say 'I told you so..' .....however......I told you so!! The darkest days in the clubs history are over (as a football manager he was just about okay..but nothing special). I can finally boast to others that I am a Rovers fan and may try to get to some of the home games (depending on cancer treatment). I have re-started wearing my Rovers hoodie without fear of embarrassment.I also think Taylor looks like the sort of manager we should have had before ( obviously time will tell) but I live in hope that if not this season then next we will be in a play-off position. I know the Forum has had enough (for and against) of Barton but I've sat quietly back and now after his latest rant I thought I would have my say. Once he left us he was always unlikely to get another job managing imo. He realised esp after the court cases and other bad publicity that he was one lucky guy having Wael as an owner. He knew our potential, he knew he could rely on Wael to support him and even then he couldn’t help but press the self destruct button with some of his Twitter comments becoming increasing bizaare. So when Wael lost control it was clear what would happen. I suspect, but don’t know, that JB knew what was going to happen way before it happened. Once gone from a managing post he would likely be on the fringes of the game with his Twitter account but unlikely to be practically involved. And most of his comments since seem to recognise that. He will now comment and talk about it as if it’s his choice not to be involved. But I suspect he will be kicking himself for messing up a golden opportunity that he could have had with us. As for MT, I agree, sensible, down to earth and sounding like a proper manager who gives straight answers to questions. I think he could be very successful but as ever, time will tell. UTG!

Mary Earps would best ignore this and Paddy Power go nowhere near it.
If there was some level of humour in it like Gary Lineker presenting in his pants if Leicester won the league it's one thing, but this is a nasty human being with a vile agenda and sinister attitude to women.
I thought he was trying to rebrand himself as a false but controversial Twitter personality to make a few quid but it could be some kind of very public mental breakdown.

I’m going to see The Symths tomorrow night. Brilliant tribute band of one of the all time great bands. Can’t be bothered to talk about some silly man anymore. Not sure it’s doing anyone any good. Let’s just talk music instead. My favourite album was Strangeways Here We Come UTG Did I miss someone mentioning Morrissey... 🤣

I took a deep breath half way through listening to Matt Taylor’s post match interview, smiled and said to Dad in the car next to me “we’ve got a proper manager now Dad, listen to him, imagine having to listen to that prick again?!”
Those players are playing more now than they were for Barton, that first half against Cheltenham was just 11 men trying to have to work out why they didn’t need 67% possession, why they didn’t need to play tippy tappt stuff in the box from a goal kick! Taylor didn’t wake up one day and say, if Pep, Arteta and De Zerbi then I as well?!?!
It’s funny as well, the refs don’t seem as bad, no more letter to Mick Jones, he wasn’t that bad today, they had more yellow cards than us, no stone wall pens, I bet Mick’s loving it!
Tisdale 2 we were told, I love the new pilot, I also love a good old bump thread 👍

Has contacts and brought some very good players to club , better than we’re used to. But as a manager or person I never rated him that much. We move on , and so far it’s been so much nicer and better in every way.

Tbf, he got more right than wrong and those players contributed to vital points in the promotion season, with the exception of Mark Hughes of course. Time to forget about him now anyway. I finally feel we have a manager capable of organising and motivating a decent squad of inherited players to get us results we would never have seen previously. A couple of quality additions in Jan and I think we could still make a strong, late push.

I agree work a lot of your post but I let’s also remember he had the biggest budget in our clubs history and his points ratio was something like 1.1 per game, I would say he got a lot wrong and j would not trust him and Jennings with a penny lower league. Resale values on any of his signings? Loans granted, maybe he could be a good loan manager at a bigger club?! But you are spot on, we’ve now got a manager not obsessed with the latest tactical craze, he dumped the possession in your own box for a much better version, the Taylor version! My main point is, I love his post match interviews, I’m glad that prick had gone. I will move on but I will also praise our new manager against the last idiot, todays presser and performance was another example.

I'm sure most players are professional, but I can't help wondering if one or two thought he was a knobhead.
A couple of players look transformed under Taylor.

If that is correct, which it is, how is it the managers before Joey brought in so many bad players ?, the team Joey inherited from Garner / T1 was awful. The team we are currently watching, although a lot on here do not want to recognise it, is Joeys squad of players, Joey brought them to the club, his contacts particularly at premierships clubs, such as Manchester City and Newcastle United (both which he played for) is excellent. I wish Taylor well, in fact I had a chat and photo with him in the car park yesterday, this is a very good squad, add a proven goal scorer in January, and I would expect this squad to make the play offs at least.

Garner and Tisdale were sh**e managers. We have had several top half squads brought to us by several different managers. Joeys recruitment, while OK, isn't that special. How many of his players have any sell on value? Our squad lacks depth in some key positions. It's also allegedly one of our most expensive. (In real terms I'm not convinced that's true)

(In real terms I'm not convinced that's true) Spot on Hugo, and old Hooper was always in his fan club. I think you said above, some of his players, his trusted lieutenants look transformed, Evans and Finley like new players. Evans was continually stop and start, Finley ruined next to Bogarde and Woods, this manager has simply just given them a run, showed confidence in them and not dropped them every 5 minutes. It’s a good squad but one of the most unbalanced we’ve ever had, we left strikers department alone all summer and had to get an unemployed one in, and the latest manager is working wonders with what he has got. 67% possession at Burton, letters and phone calls to Mick Jones everyone week, talking about managers appearances and tactics………this man Taylor is a role model to all of us! The Taylor approach, “they told me when I came Luke Thomas can’t play wing back”……, the Barton approach, I can’t trust him, he’s an IDIOT! 837 followers, perhaps the ones who signed the petition can have a follow to get him over 1,000, makes me 😂👍 x.com/common_sensepod?s=21&t=bhN6HOKs1kzYSj3KfeKg9Q

Yeah, he should have contacts there. The weird thing is, there was only one player from those two clubs (albeit a player that changed the season), whereas we have three from Brentford. Why did he have more luck getting players from Brentford, rather than the clubs he had excellent contacts with?
