Former employee embarrassing himself further on social media.
For those of you who told us he wasn’t sexist go and have a look at his latest drivel.
And before any of you come firing shots at me for carrying on about him, it’s relevant to us cause it’s a conversation we had many times when he was here and despite clear evidence at the time that he held sexist views, many on here tried to defend it.

Think his is a view that has been expressed and debated by many others on this forum and nationally by millions of football fans. There are probably many much more high profile figures in the game who share his views but know better than to express them publicly! I would not reccomend a career as a diplomat for JB! As for me, my personal preference is for male commentators as a rule, just find the tone and voice pitch more to my liking, having said that there are one or two female commentators who i enjoy listening to, indeed the lady who sometimes does our games is IMHO one of the better ones. As for the game itself well i watch and enjoy some of the Women's games and as JB says it is good to see it thriving BUT it is different and you have to accept that when you watch it, comparisons with the men's game is pointless .

Who is comparing the way women play to the men's game? It is the same game, the difference is physicality. Physicality does not prevent a women from commentating on men playing the game anymore than the males who commentate, most of whom have never played professionally.
But physicality is foremost in Barton's mind it seems, most likely because he lacks it. He displays all the symptoms of "Small Man Syndrome" and the intellect of a yapping dog.
Thank god he is no longer with us.

Agreed! Also I don't like male pundits or commentators doing the woman's game to play devil's advocate.

How is gender relevant to commentating?
Motson, Tyler Pearce etc didn't play professionally.
A (weak) case could be made for pundits needing to be men, but not commenters.

Anyone else wonder if his wife tried commentating after those 13 bottles of wine? 🤔

Barton's not exactly debating a view. He's being arrogant and condescending. "Stick to your own game" - nice. Thankfully football is surely finished with him so he can "stick to his own game" as someone trying to make a living as some kind of social media cretin. To be fair Andrew Tate and Russell Brand have made a few quid out of it.
Ps. Great memories of Jacqui Oatley commentating on our 6-3 win at Lincoln in the play offs on 5 live, that was a great night, or maybe I need my head testing

As much as I don't have time for him, I think his point is that anyone who hasn't featured at the top level of the game shouldn't be hired as an expert pundit (as opposed to commentator or presenter).
I personally think there's validity in that view, but he expresses it very poorly and provocatively.

Wow! JB strikes again.
What a ridiculous view that the sex of the person impacts their expertise on a subject!!
I had to turn off the commentary on Spurs v Man City as Gary Neville has zero clue what he was talking about!!

I think it's more a case that a woman or 99.9% of men haven't played at the top level of the game and therefore can't offer first hand expertise which gives them a creditable voice as a pundit.

I'm very happy he hasn't said that as our manager, he just sounds ignorant and backwards. I reckon there'll be more of this to come now he's out of the game, perhaps attempting to keep himself in the spotlight for good or bad. Maybe he knows his days in football are over.

A) there is zero excuse. He is amongst other things a sexist dinosaur B) Gary Neville is in your 0.01% yet has zero clue and talks no sense! I

Personally I don’t care if the person(s) commentating are male, female, or whatever. Although I don’t like listening to Sheridan Robins commentating on our games, cos she gets far too excited whenever our opponents score against us . . .

Come on then, slag me off again. Even some of my best pals told me I was wrong when I handed in my season ticket at his appointment. Once again be has proved what a lowlife he really is, but what concerns me most is that he is pictured in the media columns wearing our clubs kit. If ever there was a case for euthenasia, this is one.

Oh look. Yet another thread about an ex manager. Why not amalgamate them all and put them in one giant thread where posters who post hundreds of posts a week can bore themselves to death.
