Saiss from Morocco typifies the spirit of the world cup where you don't necessarily have to be technically better than your opponents.... he's been brilliant and is now limping! A defender limping with strapped up hamstring ... A modern day Mark Wright, Stuart Pearce!
They show that attacking is good, but there's also a place for well organised defences.
They've also had arguably the best 3 chances to score...well done, Morocco!

Hope the Moroccan’s do it, firstly to get the Spanish out but also that stadium will go mental!!

Great stuff from Morocco. Wonderful defending gave them the platform and a very decent keeper did his stuff in the shoot out. Good luck to the underdogs in the next round.

Fantastic from Morocco! It’s like an away game for whoever is playing them with the support they have! I originally had a ticket for this game but had to give it up. I saw their game against Belgium last week the atmosphere for that was incredible.

Spain are the new England from the spot. Not even we lost 3 shootouts in a row at major tournaments.
Top of my head the Spanish pen record is:
Euro 1996 Vs England, Lost World Cup 2002 Vs South Korea, Lost World Cup 2018 Vs Russia, Lost Euro 2021 Vs Italy, Lost World Cup 2022 Vs Morocco, Lost

Well in to Morocco but Spain only have themselves to blame taking penalties like that. Looked weak and lacking confidence

Really pleased one of the non-Euro / S. American sides got through. Plenty into the last 16 on the back of great support and would have been a little dull if none had got through. Fancy them to beat either Portugal or the Swiss too! Great world cup continues

Fancy them to beat either Portugal or the Swiss too! Great world cup continues Portugal always seem capable of scoring at least one goal, not sure Morocco have it in them to score a goal and so take another tie to penalties. If England can defeat France then we have a good chance of beating either of those two sides in the semi final.

There was a bookie on the radio this morning. Apparently this is going to be the first knockout game we’ve had in major tournaments since 2002 v Brazil where we’ve been underdogs. That’s quite a lot of failures in the last 20 years. Hopefully this will be the year we can actually exceed expectations 🤞.

Poland had their chances and never took them, it showed that France are fragile when teams do come at them. IF we are attack minded then i think we have nothing to fear at all. I just hope that Southgate puts out a team that will go at them and show that anything they can do, we can do better. We have to fear no one as i see it. When we have been attacking, we look great and have been a pleasure to watch. Always a juicy tie when we play the French

I'm sure some of these teams we've lost to make us underdogs before hand. Germany in 2010 for example.
