Unpopular but i agree. Fleetwood only got a play off berth by a computer and he had a lot of funds at his disposal. Reading the Fleetwood forum was enlightening. The owners even talk of recovery, after his departure. Recovery? They finished 5 places below the position when he was sacked and 20th last season. Spot on, never been as high in league one since Joey was manager and he was sacked when they were 7th in the league. As regards his budget, if the owner is so great I assume the budget has been the same as when Joey was in charge. If the owner was so generous why did Joey have to fork out for the wages of the keeper he brought in?

First goal whelan got bullied easily and it went through to the cross for a goal. Alfie plays he heads it clear. Job done. And this pattern continued. Was blindingly obvious but Joey seemed too stubborn to change it. Joey has credits in the bank but he got this wrong today and has to be held accountable. FGR - loss Morc - draw Linc - loss Shrews - draw Acc Camb Plymouth Fleetwood We need some serious points from these home games. It gets very tricky after. First goal...our right sided player has gone missing...Evans chases back. Diamond gets a poor low cross in. Hoole gets it wrong and instead of putting out for a corner ,deflects it past whelan straight to their attacker . Who at 2 yards out says thanks a lot and stabs it home.

I feel sorry for the fans who had to witness that and i shall not compound it with my own theories, it is the last thing anyone , who saw that needs. It is painfully obvious that we are unable to compete, this much no one can really argue with. All i can say or add is that things do change. I feel absolutely rotten that you had to witness that, live. That’s it..no more from me on this.

When did we last let in 6 goals at home? Just thought I'd ask as I can't think of one? 1957 vs Grimsby. Lost 7-0. And my 80 year old friend told me at the Mem today he was at that game.

Sorry but irrespective of injuries and suspensions, that scoreline was entirely down to the manager's selection and positioning of players, and not reacting to the fact it was clearly not working. Making changes when you are 6-2 down at HOME to Lincoln is criminal. I hope Barton learns from this and quickly. If not, this is going to be a VERY long and hard season. He only needed to play one player out of position today in the back row. A back four of Right back hoole Left back Clarke Centre back Kilgour Centre back coutts Instead he played everyone out of position and defensively it was an utter mess. Lincoln weren’t that good but Barton handed them three points with the team selection. He’s got credit with us for what he achieved last season but today was one hell of a blunder.

I think you may be right about todays choices. Joe did state he intends playing a back three into the future. So i guess we need a squad capable of covering for that ? Which to me means having 6 centrebacks on tge books.

The fact was that JB knew there was no point putting Kilgour on as he is no better than the players we had out there and in fact the worse defender of the lot was the other regular Houle who to be honest is useless. Wasted substututions though in bringing on Marquis and Saunders. With the defenders we have fit we are not going to improve for at least 2 or 3 weeks. This is so frustrating though giving away points in another game where footballing wise we were the better team but defensively we werE National League quality.Did Houle manage to pass to one of our players all game? Totally agree, our righthand side of Hoole and Kilgour were pathetic on Tuesday night and the same right-side with Hoole in attendance was clearly the side targeted by Lincoln today and yet again Hoole was like a rabbit in the headlights.

It is painfully obvious that todays team will be unable to compete but that isn’t the team we will have for the whole season. We are in a terribly unfortunate and unprecedented injury/suspension situation. Do you seriously think there won’t be a significant improvement once the majority of the squad are available?

Hoole would be fine if he was just played at right back where he was very good last season. Kilgour is a better central defender than Whelan is. There’s no reason why we can’t defend better with the players we had at our disposal today but the selection and formation was wrong. You’re very harsh on Hoole who made his debut around a year ago and was a very good right back for us last season. Playing him in different positions swapping and changing in an unsettled defence is obviously effecting his game as it is every player, Belshaw included. I read your posts and wonder if you know anything about football or perhaps you’ve got a very short memory or that you just make knee jerk reaction comments based on the game you’ve just watched without actually thinking things through or remembering anything that happened before. Kilgour was also a solid centre back for us in league 1 with an experienced player alongside. when played regularly in a settled defence so he does have ability. We badly miss a commanding defender like Taylor was , perhaps Thomas will be that player but again he was missing today through suspension. I think we’ve got enough attacking ability to stay up and to be honest I’ve got no idea if we’ve got enough defensive ability because it’s very early days regarding seeing our new defensive players and we’ve not been able ho build any kind of defensive cohesion due to injuries and suspensions.

It's a good job we weren't playing a really decent team today or it would have been ten,l thought going forward we were pretty good and if that effort at nil nil had gone in maybe it could have been different. On a better note I thought the minutes silence was excellent from everyone utg

Really disappointed with that on so many levels… Only Aaron Collins and maybe Lofty and TC come out of that with any credit for me. Starting to wonder if JB is taking this seriously … maybe he thinks we will get to safety comfortably and can write off 12-15 games at the start. Can handle losing when we have competed and given our all. Today though some players were awful. They have no excuse. Belshaw - 4 Hoole - 2 Whelan-2 Gordon -2 Evans -3 Macca - 3 Finley - 4 Anderson - 3 Clarke - 5 Loft - 5 Collins 7 Subs … Saunders / Marquis did nothing which is normal Coutts - 5 Jasper -4 Some players truly need a kick up the arse and are only getting a game as they are Manager Mates - Not sure it will get better when some return. I really don’t know what is wrong with Evans - Macca doesn’t look that great either . Gutted tonight … Wish I could tell JB to get his finger out as he talks a good game but not sure he would listen - more interested in his social media. I’ve read some nonsense on this forum over the years and this one is right up there. JB not taking it seriously? JB only picking his mates? JB more interested in his social media? Get a grip. Agree Eric, very very sad. But let's be honest, we knew the man who got us promoted a short time ago, would be subject to the same abuse he was getting in the first four months of last season.

I think - tbf - the majority (and myself included) are certainly not giving him abuse. I think he's having the finger pointed at him today (and rightly so IMO). I am far from convinced in this summer's recruitment and fear we are in for a long, tough season. The one saving grace is - unlike this time last year - I do have belief in JBs managerial ability and as such am still confident we can avoid the drop. All said and done though, it's been a thoroughly disappointing summer and an even worse start to our league campaign. Yes we are far from having our best team available - but given we signed known crocs, the worry has to be will we at any point? Not good.

It’s horrible to ship 6 goals at home, however it will be turned around. Knee-jerk reactions in September are foolish and as we’ve seen in previous recent seasons early form can count for nothing. The squad is more than good enough to compete in this division and there will be plenty of great evenings at the mem upcoming. The team need the support now and real supporters are there at the lowest points to enjoy the highest. Utg.

Can’t deny our defending was at times shameful, but without 4 recognised defenders ( Gibbens,Connelly, Gibson & Thomas) we were always going to find it hard going, but I thought some of the football we played first half was decent & if we would have gone in 2-1 down at half-time we were still well in the game, but instead we make a clearance that hits McCormick in the back & ricochets to the Lincoln player Diamond who runs through & scores, they must have thought Christmas had come early with the gifts we gave them. But I still believe with returning players ,if we can get a settled side we have more than enough quality in the squad to stay out of trouble.

Eric … Bideford I’m not abusing him and Eric your picking out a few words to suit your agenda. Watch the interviews, listen to what JB is saying …. Basically he feels we won’t be at our most competitive until all our players are back - Think that’s November ? So yes I do ask the question when he picks a 38 year old ahead of a recognised CB is he taking it seriously or just gambling because in his view we won’t really compete until we have all players available. He used the words baffling selections in his pre match - it was. Picking his mates …. Evans is a prime example - bloke has had about 30 minutes of good football in nine games. Still he plays. Social Media… Going to the Marseilles game , gesturing at the Spurs Fans - that’s our manager FFS ! There are 46 games in L1 - JB thinks we can really compete in about 30 of them it would seem. It’s hardly abuse …. Opinion it’s but not abuse. As for the post being ‘right up there’ Eric - Coming from you that’s outstanding.?

Well that was abysmal, the only positive the weather, How Barton didn’t make any changes at halftime is beyond me. Lincoln strolled through us, they looked quicker bigger and hungrier. Also that linesman was abysmal, he couldn’t make a decision if he had to go left or right at a road junction, officials like that shouldn’t be allowed near a football pitch.

The league table does not lie they say. Looking at it we are in a precarious position but surprise surprise we are only 6 points behind Barnsley and Derby in 6th and 7th place. It's very very early days I would suggest to write us off especially when big spenders like Oxford etc are hardly setting the league alight. I for one fully expect us to survive and finish at least in a mid table position.
