Growing week on week and starting to look like one of the first names on the team sheet. As other have said his attitude is second to none and the way he celebrates every goal shows how much passion he has. A prime example was Daly’s first goal for us, the sheer joy and enthusiasm he shown when celebrating with him was as if it was him who scored. I would like it if we could sign him permanently but seeing as he has been around Chelsea first team squad it may be a difficult one to pull off. There’s a 5 minute clip of Luke on YouTube showing his skills & being touted as the next Frank Lampard so he’s obviously highly regarded. So signing him permanently is pretty unlikely, he’s here to gain first team experience & is improving with every game . Great to hear in his interview that he is loving his time with us & hopefully he will play his part in a successful season. I do think saddling them as the next “great” does them no favours, if I remember correctly Clarke-Salter was touted as the next John Terry and I think the pressure got to him. All I will say about Luke is that he shares one trait with Lampard in that he is able to be effective in different types of games, it doesn’t matter whether it’s a muck and bullets attritional game or a midfield masterclass Luke will put the effort in and not look out of place. He doesn’t let the game “pass him by”.

We could play mc Cormick and Upson as the midfielders and otzumer Nicholson and Westbrooke as the attacking midfielders. That would be our best team I reckon.

Fantastic interview and could easily upstage any manager’s post match analysis. You are a credit to yourself and Bristol Rovers. Be part of this new regime that will eventually take us into the Championship A mind blowing interview for a young lad. Well done !! UTG Where was Turkish Messi yesterday?

Only scenario we sign him is if we get promoted and he’s surplus to requirements at Chelsea.
At his age, bossing league 1 games, no way is he signing for an average league one team.
A newly promoted championship side where he knows everyone, is loved by the fans and crucial to the team, on good money....that would be another matter - IF Chelsea don’t want him. However, more players than not are surplus to requirements at Chelsea.
Rovers are 300/1 promotion this year.

He'll sign for one if no Championship club is prepared to take the risk on a player who's never played above L1 level, as even JCH (I wonder if he'd still be here if we hadn't appointed a clown as a manager?) couldn't get a Championship club to sign him last summer, next summer they'll probably pay a few £m's more to sign him.

He won't make Chelsea's 1st team. You just have to look at Tammy Abraham, Reece James, Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori, Connor Gallagher etc. Who were sent to Championship clubs at 18, and at 20/21 are either playing for Chelsea or on loan at another Premier League Club. Luke McCormick is 22 next month, yet has only played about 20 games in 2 loan spells at League 1 clubs. I think there's every chance of signing him permanently. I think he will end up somewhere in between (I.e the championship). Well yeah - hopefully with us! 🙏

Hmmm....Whilst I'm sure we’re all pleased to see how this young man has fitted into the team and his obvious enthusiasm at playing for us, I hardly think he is bossing matches. I believe there is plenty of development in him and hopefully he can see that BRFC is the best place to achieve his potential. He didn’t pull up any trees at Shrewsbury and he no doubt realises this is his best chance of establishing himself as a pro footballer. I wouldn’t be surprised if he signs for us, and if we don’t get promoted in the next couple of seasons after this, will be able to earn himself a transfer to a Championship club.

Anyone know what his contract situation is? id imagine if he’s still on a long deal with Chelsea they’ll try and loan him out to the championship next. If he’s out of contract in the summer, then I’d hope we pulled out all the stops to sign him, but yeah I think we’ll just have to enjoy him while we can. Because of his age they would still demand a fee - if it can’t be agreed then set by tribunal I believe(?). I think Bosman free transfers only apply for players over 25 unless they move to another country. Digressing a little , just a thought , will Bosman ruling still apply after January 1st ?

Just as they get Fishing rights, state intervention and level playing field sorted out we revert back to No Deal because of lack of clarity on the Bosman ruling!!!!

Thanks for the link to the 10 minute highlights, very useful as I couldn’t see the game live. Delighted for JVS, he looked ok when I saw him last season. I’m not relatable Ed Upson fan but the move leading up to him hitting the post was excellent.
I liked Colkett but McCormick is a better player by miles. Clarke-Salter is now on loan at Birmingham. He looked a decent player to me but as someone else said, being called the next John Terry might not help a young player.

Where are we 300-1 for promotion? I’d whack a tenner on that!

I really like the McCormack, Nicholson, Westbrook combo; also, really liked Colkett, super talented, imo he would be a great addition to the squad.
