/ Really impressed with that interview. McCormick has an old head on young shoulders (only 21). I think back to Colkett and I just think there is something different about Luke. Colkett was technically good but I always got the impression he wasn't so prepared for the nasty side of the game whereas Luke seems more someone who is going to grind it out and I think that will carry him further in his career as he is a good footballer to boot.

Very impressed with him, seems to love it here too. So far so good, if it continues I’d be happy if his loan was made permanent.

Thanks GGMI, thoroughly enjoyed watching that interview. Completely agree, a really impressive interview from Luke. He seems to be really grounded and mature and wants to learn and improve. It's great to have a player like him in our squad. Well done Luke!

Thanks for that, a great interview. He comes across really well, down to earth, know he has to work hard, compete with others. He comes across as very articulate and mature for his young age. He works very hard and we look a better team with him there than when he isn’t. He runs at players and commits them, looks to attack and has bags of energy. What I do like and it’s been apparent in lots of games is that the opposition do target him and I think he’s taken some stick but he always gets up and gets on with it, it’s a great attitude. I’d love to see him here permanently but we’ll have to work hard to get that. Chelsea would be very pleased at how he’s doing, the game time he’s getting and the excellent way he’s being treated here by the club. That in itself will stand us in good stead with them. I’m just afraid the better he plays for us and if he keeps this form up Chelsea would be looking next season to place him with a Championship club on loan to continue his development. So I think we just need to enjoy having him here, enjoy what he does and hope something can be sorted. UTG!

A lot of teams do very well out of the loan system without ever getting the players permanently. Would be nice to see Rovers continue down that path.

Colkett has had 3 season long loans cut short in January, which suggests an attitude problem of sorts because he clearly had talent. Now playing for Ostersunds in Sweden!

Mccormick is miles the better player, Colkett was a luxury player who didn’t really add much to the side.

We Focus on Charlton and we go there to win

Great interview -“I love playing for Bristol Rovers and I feel like a Bristol Rovers player . . .”. I really hope we can secure his services permanently at some point.

Correct me if i am wrong, but somewhere in the empty space between my ears I seem to recollect reading when he signed that it was a season long loan with a view to becoming permanent ?

After McCormick seamed to loose his place under GC, I thought we had another Colkett type situation where he too started well before fading. However, PT has brought him back in and he's looked even better. This is the type of player we need. Skillful but not afraid to get stuck in.

He attitude is exceptional. Coming to a L1 club from a big Premiership club you always worry about potential attitude problems - a big time Charlie.
But he doesn't come across that way at all. Celebrates every goal as if he's a lifelong Gas head.
What's more he seems to be improving every game.
Without doubt an asset to the squad.
I wonder if there's any hope at all of perhaps making it permanent come the end of the season?

Colkett was nowhere near as good as he thought he was. The type who didn’t think he needed to put a shift in, the sort who thought he was so good the others could do his running for him. The odd flick that comes off, the very occasional goal doesn’t make a player.
McCormick has the skills of Colkett but 100x the attitude and work rate. No idea what Chelsea have planned for him but would love him to come here permanently - would far prefer him on a permanent deal that Oztumer if it was a case of only one being affordable. However, I suspect his next move will be to a Championship club ahead of a sizeable fee move.

I think you are right but where I read it or heard it no one knows, whether that was just a Ben quote that it us with a view to a permanent move I cant recall, certainly is a great player with a brilliant attitude, there must be so many players at Chelsea that to make it is nigh on impossible we must be in pole position to buy him.
