I've never understood why the Teds use that to try to score points of off us. I'd love it if the Al Qadis had masses of money to spend on the club, but it's hardly something you'd trot out in support of a claim that yours is the better team. 'We can buy ourselves any amount of success, so it doesn't matter how sh** we are!' Having said that I'd love it if the Al Qadis had masses of money to spend on the club, what I'd love even more is obvious evidence that the family have the best interests of the club at heart and news of a solid practical plan getting under way to ensure it's future success, even if it does have to mean 'careful' spending. Surely one of the brains they keep hiring and parting company with can come up with something. Wasn't there a guy involved with the design of Wembley Stadium on board at one point? Good grief. Get real, and get on with it. A couple of passing mentions of revamping the Mem and a few clever but useless soundbites don't indicate progress. 'Evolution not revolution' is all very well, as long as you're evolving in the right direction and not backwards into bog paper like yesterday's trees. We don't need every last detail of future plans, just something considerably more substantial than we're getting now. We're investors too, even without financial return involved - nobody buys match tickets or shirts etc for a club that will be dead on it's arse tomorrow, so it ought to be obvious that we're expecting a club with a future in return for our money. A proper explanation of how that's going to happen before the Mem drops to pieces around the new(ish) scoreboard would be nice. Christ sake, somebody lock this guy away before he does any more damage. He's hit the nail on the head so hard we won't ever be able to get it out again at this rate. Thanks. I'm a 'she', not a 'he' though. There's no shutting us up once we're overlooked by The Powers That Be when they're deciding who gets the new hand dryer!

Exactly what I have been saying for the past 2 months.
In the time of the 24 pages of this thread, if the owners were Uber serious about developing the Mem in any capacity (aside from a new set of bogs and another portakabin for the club shop) then they could have drafted plans of some nature and released them by now.

Lee Johnson is on the short list. Sizist! I refute that. Absolutely. But I will admit to being "squeaky junior cockney barrowboy-ist"

Lee Johnson is on the short list. They won’t be able to stump up enough money for him he’s that good! I wouldn’t have thought that there was much call for mushroom lumberjacks around the Stoke area? Dwarf porn maybe?

I think they will get thumped tonight. It partly depends how attacking they are but they won't get away with being as attacking as they were against Man Utd. Man City are a different beast altogether. If they're still in the tie by half time then they've done well.

Why do I have an image of David Brent in my head after reading that?

A couple of slogans didnt help much at Watford, and they’re about to get their pants pulled down again Today. “Blue moon, you saw me standing alone”

I hope they get past Man City, their league form has been crap since they beat UTD. I hope they get to the final and lose there. The longer they’re in the league Cup the more their league form will suffer probably.

When you get to 1/4 finals of any cup competition you deserve a big draw. And fair play to them, that is really a cherry on the top of a season.
If you look at the ethos, style of play and the players Johnson has bought in (he hasn’t spent a fortune compared to other championship clubs like Villa and Leeds) as well as the academy grads you have to say they deserve their success this year, whatever mantras are stapled to the wall. But if you get everyone to buy into the philosophy from the top down it does work. It’s what made Alex Ferguson so successful.
Combine that with a larger stadium with better facilities to take advantage of their position and that will draw more revenue. The cup games may even draw a good few more fans to go the following Saturday to fill up the empty seats.
If we went up to the championship now we wouldn’t and couldn’t compete. That is why the ALQs need to crack on a bit quicker than they have. They happily rode the tide of our promotion which was nothing to do with them and now it is time for them to step up.
We had 10k against Pompey and if we played Man C we would only get 12.5k. That is the point. Would we capitalise? Of course not.
