Many of you will already know that myself & quite a few others were in a bit of a love affair with DC.
I didn't support his sacking, I'm still upset about it now. However, I've always said if we stay up then it was the right decision, if not then I'd rather DC with us in L2.
Well, we're safe. Thank you to Coughlan. DC leaving was the right thing to happen for Bristol Rovers unfortunately, so kudos to those who made the decision.
Whether GC is the right man next season is another matter - however despite poor performances at times, we have secured L1 football next season. GC said it wouldn't be pretty & it wasn't.
We must now back GC in the summer.
Onwards & upwards UTG!

Great post. Tend to agree with this.
I too was (am) a big DC fab and would rather watch his brand of football than Graham Coughlan's. However, Coughlan was appointed with a brief to keep us up and has done so with a game to spare. He deserves great credit for this.
Whether he has the credentials to take us into a comfortable mid table place next season is up for debate but that's for the summer. He deserves the chance to try (just hope he injects some much needed flair into the team).
One more point. Let's hope this doesn't turn into a GC is great, DC was crap debate. We should remember and be eternally grateful for everything Darrell Clarke did for this club. Now is also the time to move on though.

Well done GC though for pulling off an unlikely escape. He's surpassed my expectations on that and deserves his shot at taking us on next season. Whilst I'm delighted we've stayed up, I will say right now that if we stay up next season I think it'll be another job well done.

Absolutely with you on this.
DC is and will always be a legend for restoring our league status and taking us to L1. Sacking him was probably one of the toughest decisions the board have had to make so far but something was going wrong and all the belief was being sucked out of the players, we couldn't buy a win at that stage. I'll always be grateful for what Darell did and in the same vein I'll be grateful for Coughlan turning things round at Christmas too.
Others wouldn't have had the balls to have make such a decision, just look at Plymouth who have steadfastly stuck by Derek Adams despite the poor form they've had pretty much all season. Coughlan has restored confidence in the team and whilst we've not had it smooth sailing, we've managed to grind out enough points to keep us playing in L1 for another season.
I can't stress enough how important it is to give Coughlan a decent budget and a bit of time to assemble the squad to make us competitive in the top half of the division again, I think GC has earn't that and I'm looking forward to seeing who comes and goes during that rebuilding process.

I remember Lockyer's interview after DC had left.
DC's last words to Tom were "Whatever you do, please don't let this club go down"

Have to agree with all the above. Love DC and what he did but football is a results business and unfortunately we weren’t getting them when he left.GC had one task, keep us up and he’s done it so well done to him and the team. I’m sure he knows the limitations of this squad and the lack of quality in the squad so I hope he will be given the chance to reshape the team, bring in the creativity, width that we need, secure a decent keeper and just get the team playing some attractive football. But as has been said that’s for another day. Tonight we can celebrate. UTG!

Fantastic achievement by players and management. We looked done and dusted in December.
Realistically L1 is the best level we can hope to play at currently so it's fantastic we've kept our place at the table.

DC is and will always be a legend to me, the utter joy of Wembley and Browns last minute goal, gave me such euphoria that words can never explain it
I will Support GC and his team and fully hope he can work his magic in the transfer market because i don't think he is going to get the level of investment DC had from the Board

DC will always be a gas legend for me but I believe the decision to part company was right, both for him and us.
Let's hope GC surprises us and can create a squad in the summer that's capable of competing at the top half of the table next season.
Well done to GC, the lads, coaching staff, all of the other staff behind the scenes at BRFC and us fans who have all played a part in saving our L1 status.
UTG!

Thing is, only Lockyer and possibly JCH would appear to fit that bill. Inevitable that GC's hands will be tied somewhat unless that does happen.

Well done GC. I always thought we would have enough about us to stay up under him though. The big challenge will be how he shapes the squad for next season and how we get on.

Considering where we were when GC took over keeping us up is a fantastic achievement. He's done that based on a solid defensive unit & an inspired January signing. Listening to his post match interview I definitely think he wants us to play with a bit more flair, he deserves the chance to build his own squad.

It would be a nice thing if the club could get d c to the game on Saturday then the man and the fans could give him the farewell he deserves

He must be given every opportunity now to take the club forward. His defensive coaching has been amazing and tactically with the cards he’s been dealt he’s done well. Well done and for once in a long time I’m smiling and abusing city fans and Yeovil fans in Facebook. He has allowed me to do that so total respect.

Not sure Saturday is the best time as it may deflect from the achievement since then though.
