DC is and will always be a legend to me, the utter joy of Wembley and Browns last minute goal, gave me such euphoria that words can never explain it I will Support GC and his team and fully hope he can work his magic in the transfer market because i don't think he is going to get the level of investment DC had from the Board Transfer funds aside if the owners don't match this season's wage budget I doubt we have any chance of staying up, just look at the teams in the bottom 5 tonight all clubs with seemingly decent wage budgets. Or it goes to show it’s how you use it not how much you spend. Luton can’t have been that big of an investment? Accrington staying up on their budget is a huge achievement. Bradford in particular is an example of how to fail extravagantly.

We've ground out enough points to stay in the league. We'll done GC and the boys. It could have all gone horribly wrong, just look at Plymouth now after they thought they were home and dry a month or so ago.
I hope GC can identify and attract the right players to improve the balance and quality of the squad and football on view.
The bottom line unfortunately remains that until we get substantial investment into the playing staff and infrastructure, we are going to be a mid table league 1 club at best. We can't afford another season like this.

Go to the game by all means but under the radar for me. Survival is thanks to GC and the players that are still here.

Many of you will already know that myself & quite a few others were in a bit of a love affair with DC. I didn't support his sacking, I'm still upset about it now. However, I've always said if we stay up then it was the right decision, if not then I'd rather DC with us in L2. Well, we're safe. Thank you to Coughlan. DC leaving was the right thing to happen for Bristol Rovers unfortunately, so kudos to those who made the decision. Whether GC is the right man next season is another matter - however despite poor performances at times, we have secured L1 football next season. GC said it wouldn't be pretty & it wasn't. We must now back GC in the summer. Onwards & upwards UTG! Wrong decision for me. D.c deserved jan window. He would have obviously (irony to all who say we would have gone down under d.c) signed JCH. D.C. don’t miss out on many Clarke’s.

I do appreciate this is going to sound ungrateful, and I really do appreciate the job GC has done and believe he deserves immense credit. I've said as much in other posts.
I do think though that he has overplayed it slightly by saying it was "an impossible job" and we were "cut adrift" when he took over. Four points with over half the season to go was hardly the great escape!
However, he did the job and did it with a game to spare. He has certainly made us better defensively all season too, an area that needed improvement. I hope he genuinely does want to be more expansive when he starts with a clean slate at the start of next season, as he has shown that he has the other qualities needed to be a success in that he can organise a team and, if JCH is anything to go by, can spot a player too.
Hopefully he will be backed sufficiently and use it wisely to make next season a more comfortable mid table one. I'm fascinated to see the retained list now.

What ever people think of GC, the fact is that when he took over from DC the club was 4 points from safety,so from that fact alone GC must receive great praise for keeping this club up with a game to spare,,so well done GC

Not only were we 4 pts a drift but we were on a long run of consecutive defeats ending with a thrashing at home to Doncaster, plus DC was stuck with players like Payne & Bennett who it was far easier for a new manager to move on. There's simply no way he could have turned things around. It's rare for Rovers we actually appoint a manager who can turn things around to the extent GC has, Garry Thompson failed when he took over form Holloway as did both Dave Penny and Stu Campbell when they took over from Paul Trollope.

What about the man that took over from Campbell, what about the man that took over from Buckle, what about the man that took over from McGhee, what about the man that took over from Ward? Have I missed anyone? I’m sure all those take overs were successful, in the short term/recovery mission. Job done for now but as always proof is the n the long term pudding.

Much kudos to GC,the difficult task of keeping us up done in a mirror image way of the man himself.DC fell on his own sword really with the team he put out against Donny, that Stevenage bloke and Partington as wing backs! He wanted out. Well done to GC and I’m certain DC will be absolutely delighted for him too.

Thought the decision was wrong at the time and despite safety being confirmed today still think it is now.
We were never going down IMO under DC. We'll never know now but congratulations to GC and I will obviously continue to back him but I do not believe he is the man to take us forward. Obviously deserves his chance though.

The thing that concerns me is the interview that GC did shortly after taking the job. He stated that the stadium was more than good enough for us and he was pleased with the state of affairs off the pitch in terms of investment. At the time, I thought he was trying to stay on the side of the people who gave him his first job in management. If he doesn’t demand a decent playing budget for next season, I can see us struggling again. This squad needs investment.

Really like DC, not sure why he left, or was he pushed ?, just back from Fleetwood and have to say, while I appreciate GC keeping BRFC in Div 1, I cannot watch another game with Partinton playing at right-wing back, no wingers and few attempts on target, we are currently IMO a awful team to watch, the club is at a cross-roads and if Wael does not back the manager, albeit GC or another, then we will inevtably get relegated next year.

I agree that the football have been atrocious over the past couple of months. No width or creativity. Nothing to get you on the edge of your seat. Perhaps though, these tactics used by GC have been simply to drag us over the line, which he has, without us being open to attack. If we play the same system, with similar players in August, I will be very concerned. Hopefully a new season will bring new life and new tactics where we keep the solid base of a good defence but add a little spice in the right areas.

Hands up if you're ready for some dire, turgid football next season! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 I think GC had to do a temporary fix by solidifying the defence to get points on the board, and he did that and kept us up. I personally think he has earned the right to bring in his own players next season and show what type of football he can produce.
