I was reading that and thinking that's put that to bed then, but when I got to the part about confidentiality I start thinking hang on. I suppose what ever camp your in there is something in that statement, albeit more for the nay sayers,so i'll still be getting splinters sat on this fence. Best to do as JTS posted and try and be patient

I believe we have an investor lined up but it all depends on the outcome of the appeal. NH has stated,
1. It is also worth bearing in mind quite frequently when new investors begin talks with clubs both sides sign a confidentiality agreement forbidding either party from publicly discussing the talks. 2. We don’t want to raise supporters’ expectations before any deal is done, and sometimes when news leaks out it results in the buyers being approached by countless other clubs who are also looking for a cash injection.
It's a typical smoke and mirrors NH statement as per usual but he does need to keep his powder dry until the appeal is heard.

I think the issue is the investors checking the board are it and proper people to do buisness with rather then the other way round. :-)
Perhaps they have realised the financial state / UWE costs are in a worst state then they appear in the public eye?

That confirms the rumours IMO.
There was no reason at all he couldn't have point blankly refuted the rumours had there have been no truth in them; he didn't. Hence I think they are true, but he can't divulge the details, as per his remarks in the final paragraph.
As gasincider would say, "keep the faith".

I think NH is enjoying this thread as much as anybody. It serves to distract attention from the gradual decay of our club.

I think this confirms something is afoot however also starting to think certain well-meaning forum users have been used by potential investors in a bid to put nh under more pressure in the negotiations. I also think this statement maybe sends a message to those potential investors that it's a tactic that has not worked and am guessing we will not hear anything else from anyone now unless a deal is completed.
Like 99.9% of the posts on this thread though, this is purely an opinion....

Why didn't he come out four weeks ago with this. This virtually confirms the rumours and gives us all hope that some sort of deal can be done to move the club forward. Credit where it's due.

I would say at least 5% of the posts are fact, in that particular posters opinion of course. Reading back through there is also around 15% absolute Monty Python (quite an entertaining read) and it's about time that Unigas fella did an update!

"I am sure you are all aware there has once again been lots of unfounded rumours of new investments and buy-outs of the club."
I thought it was just the one rumour from JTS/Gasincider?
T"he truth is that over the last 2 years we have been approached by around 12 potential investors in the club."
First we've heard that number mentioned?
"But investors who have money to buy the club but can only fund the Club to keep it running for three or four years simply isn’t going to work for the long-term future of the Club."
Why not if the income streams at the UWE are apparently so good?
"It is also worth bearing in mind quite frequently when new investors begin talks with clubs both sides sign a confidentiality agreement forbidding either party from publicly discussing the talks."
So does that mean talks are still ongoing with one of the 12 interested parties?
"As I have said before we have had many talks with potential investors which have never got past first base."
As above is that all 12 or just some of them?
My take on the main parts today's announcement:
"We don’t want to raise supporters’ expectations before any deal is done, and sometimes when news leaks out it results in the buyers being approached by countless other clubs who are also looking for a cash injection"
So talks are still ongoing with one or more of the 12?
So basically NH has heard the rumours, he wants evidence anybody interested in buying the club is in for the long term, he's been approached by 12 interested parties, one or more of these could still be in talks but confidentiality clauses mean we won't be told anything until he's ready to tell us, just in case our investors are poached by another club.

The Chairman speaks........ "I am sure you are all aware there has once again been lots of unfounded rumours of new investments and buy-outs of the club. The truth is that over the last 2 years we have been approached by around 12 potential investors in the club. Recent history has shown how boards of directors who sell to the first bidder who waves a chunky cheque in their faces have left their clubs in the wrong hands. We wouldn’t consider selling to someone who within weeks of taking over changes the club’s kit to red and white and renames us Bristol Pirates. With our fan base and planning permission for a 22,000 seat stadium on the outskirts of the city, the club is potentially an attractive proposition for investors. When word gets around that you are looking for investment, you are bound to have people contacting you. But investors who have money to buy the club but can only fund the Club to keep it running for three or four years simply isn’t going to work for the long-term future of the Club. I get a lot of stick for repeatedly saying I will only sell if the right investor comes along, who can demonstrate the ability and ambition to take our club forward. I am a supporter of the club, and myself and the board will do what we believe to be in the Club’s best interest. Fans stop me all the time and ask me if there is any news on new signings or on new investment. I feel like I disappoint them when I tell them there is nothing to report at the moment, but rest assured if and when we have news on either front we will inform you. It is also worth bearing in mind quite frequently when new investors begin talks with clubs both sides sign a confidentiality agreement forbidding either party from publicly discussing the talks. The key words here are 'before a deal is done'. There is a potential deal then?

We are not in talks but if we were in talks we would tell you we were not in talks. Thats everything cleared up then :-) For what it's worth reading that I don't think we are in advanced talks with anyone - they have obviously had talks with potential investors and this is probably where the leaks discussed on here have come from as some investors might have been seen as progressing further than previous ones beforehand however I think these have ended now and it's all speculation that still exists IMHO
