Before we get carried away after the excellent result Saturday I think we only have to look at Barnet to see that being top of the table brings added pressure and overtaking them at this stage may be to our disadvantage. I would hope that our mix of players WILL be able to handle the pressure but to be predicting winning a league which will probably take 90 points is putting one helluva lot of pressure on what is really quite a young team. The next two games will show us one thing about our team- whether they can follow up a great victory with two home victories against mid table opposition. I can certainly remember many occasions where we have failed to take advantage of this sort of situation and there is no divine right in this or any other League. If we can achieve it then I think there is a reasonable chance we will be top of the League going into the Gateshead game and that could make that game even more difficult. I think the important thing is to continue taking each game as it comes and getting behind the team. We can be the extra man so lets give the lads an advantage at every game left but lets not get carried away until we see how our lads can play under that different type of pressure.

I think the manager has this in hand........
"You can get bogged down in seeing what other teams are doing. If you win matches, the table takes care of itself."

A nice type of pressue, the type we haven't felt for many years! When was the last time we were in a title race? 99/2000?

Agreed, the next 2 games are so important and we cannot afford to let this slip! We have habit of being complacent in these sorts of games, the thing is if we aren't leading or playing great after the first 10 minutes then the euphoria of last weekend can quickly change to frustration and the crowd being a hindrance rather than support. We MUST get behind the team the next 2 games. We CAN do this!!!

My only concern is our failure to convert chances. We must start punishing teams more when we are on top.I still think MT could end up with 20 goals yet this season if they start going in for him.It is such a fine line sometimes and he has been very unlucky not to have scored a few in the last two games, but still been one of our best players.

It is what concerns me too,we haven't had a player score more than one goal in a game, other than in the cup, yet. I keep telling myself it will happen soon, hopefully this Saturday

I'm so annoyed we lost that home match to FGR (we had like 9 attempts against their 1). We could be looking at an unbeaten home record for the whole season D:

Heh, I've got an idea. Let's time our move to the top just right. Let's hit the promotion zone at precisely the 36th minute against alfreton on the final day of the season. Seems to have worked last season ok

Nows the time to spport the team as you suggest but perhaps you need to take a leaf out of your own book and not start demanding players like Lockyer are dropped after one poor game? If nothing else we now this team usually gives 100% so we now they are going to give it their best shot.
