At risk of being a party pooper, I fear some are getting a bit carried away too soon. Although we should be confident going into our next games, we should remember that at this level Altrincham are no mugs, nor are Braintree. I'm reminded of Darrell Clarke's words from earlier this season:
“It is crazy this place! When you lose a couple of games it gets lower than a snake’s belly, but when you win a game everyone wants to get the promotion medals out!” He added: “Let’s just relax. Let’s all enjoy the win and then let’s all just move on. We can’t afford to get carried away because we have ..tough [away] games to come ............."
Sure and steady, one game at a time.

Yes! As I said on another thread...
I agree we should take NOTHING for granted.
It's obvious that it'd be easy for us to get over-confident now, after Saturday being such a great day, but we cannot afford to be.
(I'm reminding myself of this too)... Let's make sure we take our ''too big for this league'' heads out of our asses and MAKE SURE WE DO THE F'IN BUSINESS!!
UTG!

Completely agree with this.
There is a massive coming our way as fans should we lose a game.
Nothing would be better for us to be belting out Irene at a time when the players need us most. Probability tells us we will have a set back. How we deal with this is going to be key.
Our friends in North London are struggling with theirs!

We are too big for this league. Not saying we don't deserve to be in it, just that we're a Championship/League 1 club really and should go all out to get back to our true level. I don't see any signs of DC or the players getting over-confident. Some fans maybe are but who cares what fans think, it's what the team does on the pitch that matters and they're taking it one match at a time. FWIW, at the beginning of the season I predicted we'd go straight back up and nothing's happened since then to change that view, despite the odd wobble and too many draws. We have a pedigree and it's shining through in every game. I predict we'll win the league by 4 points.

Not sur anybody is actually getting over confident just starting to think promotion is a possiblity rather than an outside bet. Anyway we've suffered enough depressing times recently why can't we enjoy some positivity for a change, it's not a crime!!

Apologies, all the excitement of typing in a new environment must of got the better of me. A massive test it should have read. Your pasty for now, is safe.... Unless of course I'm really hungry and its unguarded then I am not responsible for my actions.

Munching that while listening to the DJ's same 6 records from 2.30 is a sacred ritual for me.

I was reminded last Satuday as to how we should be reacting. A friend of mine (yes, I have some) who supports the Dark Side said, "I hope Sheff Utd turn up and give us a game".......That, to me, was the wrong attitude, and Sheff Utd proved it !
We're doing well. Stay humble, because as we all know football has a habit of biting you on the arrse !

Braintree and Altrincham are two of the four teams to have beaten us this season.

I'm waiting to hear soon that Bristol City will play matches at 4.00 AM every other Tuesday. The Bristol Sport Multi-Entertainment Stadium needs to reschedule football matches to accommodate competing demands from other BS franchises - rugby, hockey, outdoor figure skating, water polo, mud wrestling and monster truck racing.

We have done nothing, yet. Put ourselves into a great position, no more, no less; personally think we will be in the play offs, still do not score enough goals. UTG

The billy big bollox nonsense needs to stop, we are not TOO BIG for any league otherwise we wouldn't be sodding in it, or my personal irritation is the "Big fish in a small pond" line sodding comment. We are doing well at the moment, and we have to maintain recent form and even improve on it to have a chance of promotion from this division, so if i'm pushed for an analogy i'll give you one i'd call it more like a bleedin "crab in a toilet" I hope we get up round the sodding seat before someone pulls the flush again!

Chum? In all seriousness though, remember where we were after 34 games last season (the exact same point in the season we are now). We were 14th in League Two and eight points clear of the bottom two. Pedigree gets you nowhere. Scoring goals in league games and winning three points most weeks gets you places. Thankfully we are doing it better this season than last, and I really hope that continues
