There are three threads on here now that are complete spam. Don't know if they will cause a problem but can we have them removed. Think the titles give them away. Non sensical rubbish which sometimes infiltrates e mail boxes.
Is it my eyes? i just came on the forum as per usual and there was rubbish threads like spam then i clicked back to gasworks and they were gone!!!

I don't think you need to hack a forum to post spam, technically the forum may have been targeted by forced marketing bots, but luckily I assume it hasn't be hacked.

Hey, I posted a couple of threads about my new p3n1s extending tool on here yesterday but they seem to have been deleted. Anyone know where they've gone? Also anyone want to buy one?
P.s. Hugo a solicitor in the Cayman Islands has been in touch and says I've got a massive inheritance coming - you couldn't have it popped into your account could you? I don't have one. I'll let you keep half.

Yep, just a spam bot. Account deleted and IP banned by yours truly. Heh heh, bot. Specially Processed American Meats. How did the staple food of my childhood come to mean unwanted electronic mail? Luncheon meat! Remember that? God we knew how to do junk food in those days. And barely a fatty in sight. Makes yer fink, dunnit?

Non sensical rubbish which sometimes infiltrates e mail boxes. Is it my eyes? i just came on the forum as per usual and there was rubbish threads like spam then i clicked back to gasworks and they were gone!!! Just to clarify: There are two options for registering: 1) We set it so that every new sign-up must be approved 2) We allow anyone to set up an account We opted for the second option as all of the Mods here work full-time and we cannot guarantee how quickly we could approve new accounts. If we weren't particularly quick then some users would be left waiting to access the forum - potentially for quite some time. The downside is that spambots can from time to time sign-up and post sh!t. As you know, this isn't a common occurrence - if it were to become so, we'd obviously consider changing the sign-up options. Hopefully as you can see, we are normally pretty quick at removing the spam posts when they do occur on rare occasions (thank you Hugo).

You're right about there not being many overweight schoolkids in those days though - technology has a lot to answer for.

I heard a terrible statistic today, on t'wireless. Apparently, 27% of British 19-24-year-olds are now teetotal. A huge increase apparently. A sobering thought. The only teetotallers when I was that age were struggling alcoholics. You know what's happened? They're spending their formative years in their bedrooms on screens, instead of creeping into pubs and drinking up the dregs like we did. Bloody tragic.

Shocking news about the breakdown in British society when the yoof are forsaking alcohol. I don't believe it. £4.50 a pint is too much to be able to go out. They're in their rooms in student halls glugging back 20 cans a night of Tesco Extra Value lager. As am I. Not in their rooms. Or even outside watching the females with my binoculars. Just drinking the cheap beer. Just to clear that one up.
