... as well we know. Hope that Barnet get a case of the jitters, just like we did in the year 2000. Anything is possible. Here's my blog... www.bristolpost.co.uk/BRISTOL-ROVERS-BLOG-G-Gas-Squeaky-bum-time/story-26003015-detail/story.htmlIf it's not too painful, anyone pinpoint when we hit the slippery slope back then? As someone on the website pointed out, we did manage to beat the City, but that was about it! Btw. Apologies, Martin Bull. I know you don't share all my views, but for a brief while this morning we even shared the same blog name! Hopefully sorted now...

Jitters can set in. Sure they will. It happened to Newcastle all those years ago.
As for that ill fated season I recall Ian holloway in his autobiography said something on the matter. Ian explained that peter beadle had told cure ton and Roberts how much he was getting at city and it turned their heads. It destroyed the dressing room and those guys didn't try in last few games. The trust, understanding and belief disappeared from the team and it never recovered.
What we need is few agents upsetting the key Barnet players. Although a better strategy is for us to win our games and all will be well.
I enjoy this blog.

These are the results following on from that win at Wycombe... 07.03.2000 Wycombe Wanderers home W1-0 11.03.2000 Bury away D0-0 18.03.2000 Chesterfield home W3-1 22.03.2000 Reading away L0-2 25.03.2000 Millwall away L0-3 01.04.2000 Stoke City home D3-3 04.04.2000 Reading home L0-1 08.04.2000 Cambridge United away D1-1 15.04.2000 Preston North End home L0-2 22.04.2000 Bristol City home W2-0 24.04.2000 Blackpool away L1-2 29.04.2000 Bournemouth home D2-2 06.05.2000 Cardiff City away L0-1 I still can't quite believe what happened that season. I don't think I've ever felt as let down as I did that day at Cardiff. 6 points from the last 10 games.

I will wonder until my dying day how things might have turned out differently if we'd gone up that season. 2000/01 in the Championship mid-table or better, inspired by Olly. Big crowds, big investment, redeveloped or new stadium. Maybe. Or, as it turned out, 2000/01 relegated to the 4th Division for the first time in our history. Pointless looking back and thinking "what if", I suppose, but we were just brilliant that seasn until it imploded.
