Surely any owner has the full say in how the club's marketed? In the ALS case they seem to be doing zero marketing anyway at present! As things stand we're not even certain anybody is trying to takeover the club, if they are, then who the group consists of, prior to Wael taking over the club there was a lot of talk about an American consortium but it seems likely there never was such a group. Of course and exactly. If they want us to wear red, change our crest to a robin and change our name they could do that. Who knows what a new owners intentions would be. Wael was good enough to vet the new owners to ensure that they had decent intentions regards buying into our culture. However there’s no guarantees the Al Saeeds will do the same. No guarantee they will honour it as well whilst they own us, but it least it formed part of Waels decision making process. It’s the equivalent to selling a house and choosing to go with the family who wants to make a family home out of the home you’ve lived in for decades vs the developer who wants to flatten it and turn it into a set of 2 bed new builds. Weal seems to be pushing for the new group to buy out the ALS if he vetted the ALS then why wouldn't he do the same with the new group? As far as your last sentence we've no real idea what's planned or even if the group even exists.

August 2023 saw a change of ownership at Bristol Rovers, with Wael Al-Qadi selling 55% of his stake in the club to Kuwaiti businessman Hussain AlSaeed. AlSaeed's net worth is currently unclear, but he stems from a career in banking, having been the Treasury and Investment Manager at the Commercial Bank of Kuwait. Following that, he continued to build his career in finance as an Assistant and General Manager at Kuwait Investment International Company. He then went on to form his own company in the form of M.E.C Consultants, but it was real estate where he made his millions. Founding the Al Elmam Estate Company in 1993, he has developed housing, shopping malls, offices and restaurants all over Kuwait. While it is unclear just how much money this earned him, it is likely that it could be of great benefit to Rovers. Alongside Al-Qadi, who has a net worth of £400 million, they can have a real profound impact on the club and the Gas are in good hands to take that next step in the Football League. Right from day one you can never find any indication of the owners true worth I could be wrong but isn't the Hussain Al Seead who's a banker and our Hussain two different Kuwaiti's? Just our luck it seems that Wael decided that he spent enough on Rovers when the next multi millionaire arrived!!

What we need is owners that can restore some belief, match Day experience now is as bad as I can remember, there is little to no atmosphere at home games. On Saturday I can only ever remember "Gas go marching in" being sung and was for very short periods.
In 18 months it feels like we have slid to the brink where if we were to be relegated, it would be difficult to see us to even compete in league 2 but there would be a massive drop off in support.

I have not commented much on the thread as I have no knowledge of all the theories being banded about re the off field stuff, it is apparent though that the ambience around the club is indeed very strange at the moment, in saying that I don't think any one can really fault the players attitude and application and I believe they are slowly but surely improving as a unit , it is apparent that some folk are not fans of M/T AND HIS PERSONA but he can't help being M/T and I for one wish him well as he endeavours to take the club forward against a background of what seems to be uncertainty, despite all that our league position is as good as it's been at this stage of the season and unlike some I have no doubts we will be fine and finish in a comfortable position in the table, probably not good enough for some but that's the nature of the beast !.

As far as your last sentence we've no real idea what's planned or even if the group even exists. Also this group have apparently been looking to buy a club for a while now. So why haven't they? There are tons of owners who would happily sell up if they could get some of the money back that they invested. If this new group really were the real deal, with some decent money, you would think they would have had more than a few clubs showing interest in selling to them.

I've no idea what "a while" is in this example? However, I would like to think that a group purchase of a football club takes a considerable amount of time. There must a hell of a lot of paperwork to sort after the negotiations and posturing phase. Then legals and searches and diligence and contracts. Even the finance part won't be coming from a suitcase, that'll involve investment and loans with insurances. It can take a while to buy a car or a house..

Well they lost out on buying Wycombe 5 years ago, after the other buyer came in quite late on. They have been rumours of them buying clubs on and off since then. So in this case, a while is ages! I expect they were one of the parties interested in us, when Wael choose the current owners.

I really hope we start winning games soon so this can all go away, cos lets be honest, its not happening.
Or even better, win some games and get the Mem development plans out there so we can focus on that.

If Wael had a new worth of £400m he wouldn't have sold 60% to some complete unknowns.

Seems to me the Dutch consortium will take us backwards as their financial imput will not be sufficient to move us on quickly.
I am bewildered why so many seem intent on causing a divide amongst the fanbase, I want what's best for the Gas.
The board need to come out and either back Matt, or sack him, however I think in the long run he will do a decent job.
The rumours on here if true, make me want Matt to succeed even more, the players seem right behind him, we had chances against Lincoln to win the match, and against Crawley should have been 3 up at half time, albeit in the end we were hanging on.
We are due our day in the sun, but need some serious financial backing to do it.

If Wael had a new worth of £400m he wouldn't have sold 60% to some complete unknowns. What Wael said, when we were taken over: "Over the past few months as discussions have developed it has been clear to me that Hussain and Abdullatif not only have a consistent vision with ours for the club but they also have the expertise and resource to help move us forward quicker. I'm not sure what evidence he asked for, if any.

If you had a net worth of £400,000 and were owed £20,000 wouldn't you want to get a big chunk of it back? Wael has never said the debt is written off and I'm sure it's not. He'll get all or most of it back eventually. He's already got 60% back.
