Tbh I’m uncomfortable with the sounds of that. Sounds like they’ll want to rebrand the club and put themselves in charge of management of the playing side. Would they be any different to the Al Saeeds? Would they end up changing our kit and identity. Ditching the quarters anyone? I’m not sure they’d be the messiahs we think they’d be. The current owners want to sell parts of the Training ground. The group apparently wants invest in Training ground and an academy. It's chalk and cheese stuff. How do you jump to the new group might change the kit? If you are using, it's better the devil you know, well the devil we currently have running the club is making bad decision after another with very little sign of investment. Owners have lost faith of alot of supporters quite impressively. If the offers good then please take it. We can't be the play thing of someone's son that knows little of running a football club. It all sounds a bit like the Salford City scenario for my liking. 1. Change of kit colour 2. Failed manager ( who was a good footballer ) running the show 3. A foriegn investor -- Providing the funds. 4. Changing managers more than some people change there underpants. 5. Promising promotion -- Still not achieved. Not sure these would be a better outcome at all.

But we have been extremely lucky in that Wael and the Al Saeeds to date have been very respectful of our club branding and identity. I think we take that for granted and assume that whoever buys us would be the same. It’s just as big as an assumption to assume they wouldn’t try and change our identity. For me our identity and branding is important and I don’t want us to sell out just to get a new stand or two. As for training ground sale that bit is less important to me. If we can have a decent academy and sell a little bit of training ground to help develop the stadium that’s a decent compromise to make in my eyes. The article was suggesting they don’t want to spend money to develop the club so that infers we wouldn’t necessarily have a stadium redevelopment instantly signed off if they were to buy us out. It did say they want to pick their own manager who is on the consortium (massive red flag imo) and they want to have a big steer in the marketing of the club. It’s not unreasonable to assume that this could involve a major rebranding of the club. Could - not certainty - but enough to make me wary of their intentions should they buy us. Beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing and all that.0

Assuming we’re thinking of the same person it was 95% the way they went about sharing it - acting all coy and making out we were all idiots for not knowing because it was obviously in the public domain for us all to see (obviously not obvious enough) - that frustrated us all.

As things stand we're not even certain anybody is trying to takeover the club, if they are, then who the group consists of, prior to Wael taking over the club there was a lot of talk about an American consortium but it seems likely there never was such a group.

It seems to me we are getting less and less attractive as an investment prospect with each passing year.
The stadium generally is a disgrace and getting worse.
Attendances are mediocre and are slipping relative to other clubs.
The other club in the city hoovers up all the prospective new support.
Success is but a distant memory and the days of us being described as a sleeping giant are now not credible at all. Staying in L1 is now all we can aspire to.
Debts mount each year with ominous predictability, with no apparent way to stop the cash pouring out of the club.
Other than a having a love of the club for local, family and sentimental reasons, I can't think why anyone would invest a penny on us.

So if there is a choice would you rather we :- 1) Do nothing and let the club stagnate. 2) Borrow money to invest in the stadium and training ground and put the club in further debt. 3) Invest as the owners have said they want to, 30- 35 million in the stadium and training ground with some of that money coming from the sale of waste land at the Quarters that is within the local development plan and allocated for housing, land that the club doesn't need but could be sold raising useful dosh that the club can use for investing in the infrastructure. I know which one i would choose. As for the fruit loop takeover rumour, Rovers name has not been mentioned anywhere, except possibly by Wael who has made comments in the passed suggesting at various points the U W E development would go ahead and the Fruit market Development was on the cards, neither of which happened . I think it is unlikely we will be seeing a dutch cap in the Directors box anytime soon.

Not sure "debts" are mounting even if losses are, as Wael cleared most of the debts he ran up and it's anybody's guess what's happened to them since he sold part of his shareholding. As far as attractiveness surely there is more potential at Rovers than the likes of Wycombe, Carlisle, Gillingham & Burton and they've all been taken over fairly recently. Our problem seems to be the ALS don't appear to have the finances to develop the Mem, although that seems to have been our problem since we returned to Bristol. It would be interesting to know how far apart we were from agreeing a deal with the UWE.

Of course and exactly. If they want us to wear red, change our crest to a robin and change our name they could do that. Who knows what a new owners intentions would be. Wael was good enough to vet the new owners to ensure that they had decent intentions regards buying into our culture. However there’s no guarantees the Al Saeeds will do the same. No guarantee they will honour it as well whilst they own us, but it least it formed part of Waels decision making process. It’s the equivalent to selling a house and choosing to go with the family who wants to make a family home out of the home you’ve lived in for decades vs the developer who wants to flatten it and turn it into a set of 2 bed new builds.

So if we don't need the land it is a bit pointless keeping it, when the money could be re- invested in the club. Given the club asked for the land to be included in the plan it would be a bit odd to then object to it being developed, although I doubt S Glos are ever going to take enforcement action in order to build just 50(?) executive homes, particularly if it's on the land where the club house is presently situated.

If Rovers hadn't sold Eastville Rovers 1883 might not even still exist? Selling Hambrook also kept the club afloat at the time Bristol Rugby did survive and seem to be doing quite well for themselves at AG Although selling spare land at The Quarters is different from any of the land sales listed, unless we become a Premiership side needing over a dozen training pitches then we don't need all the land at The Quarters. Although selling that land seems a long term plan as it's not even been included in the plan at present.

August 2023 saw a change of ownership at Bristol Rovers, with Wael Al-Qadi selling 55% of his stake in the club to Kuwaiti businessman Hussain AlSaeed.
AlSaeed's net worth is currently unclear, but he stems from a career in banking, having been the Treasury and Investment Manager at the Commercial Bank of Kuwait.
Following that, he continued to build his career in finance as an Assistant and General Manager at Kuwait Investment International Company. He then went on to form his own company in the form of M.E.C Consultants, but it was real estate where he made his millions.
Founding the Al Elmam Estate Company in 1993, he has developed housing, shopping malls, offices and restaurants all over Kuwait.
While it is unclear just how much money this earned him, it is likely that it could be of great benefit to Rovers.
Alongside Al-Qadi, who has a net worth of £400 million, they can have a real profound impact on the club and the Gas are in good hands to take that next step in the Football League. Right from day one you can never find any indication of the owners true worth
