Whatever Taylor said will be taken out of context by the people who have made their mind up they don't want him as manager. He said we had a young team out at the end of the game and was proud of them. Forbes, Billongo, Griffiths, Taylor,Conteh are all young. 25 shots on goal today. Other league 1 clubs going out to non league sides. Of course we want to play better but let's have some sense of fairness, we fully deserved to win and got the job done. The over reaction by some posters is ridiculous. Have a good evening and enjoy the win. On to round 2.UTG No let’s not spin this, because of his tactics his generals ran out of steam or needed protecting so he brought on the subs. The West Ham lad is playing international football, Ward is a pro as is Thomas now. Macca has been at a massive club like Chelsea and has played over 120 league games. It’s a myth we are young and inexperienced, we are not talking about Jerry Lawrence and Kofi Shaw on the pitch! Over reaction? 5-0 to Swindon, didn’t win a game in the Pizza Cup, referee overuled a linesman for a perfectly good Shrews goal, today was just a continuation of what we have seen and thankfully his 17th win in 50 games for us. His average is 1.12 points per game, I see the curve and I back it up with stats.

Well, I for one am thankful that Matt Taylor avoided a Boreham Wood, Barnet, Chesham, Darlington, Hitchen, Kettering or Hayes. Well done Matt and the lads

We just about bossed the first half, WSM bossed the second half. Extra time was nervy, especially when the ball went anywhere near Connor Taylor...a few of us were commenting that CT never seemed to win any headers and then, 2-1 😁 We then decided the same logic might work for the two Lukes, so said they were sh**e expecting goals from them both. Yeah OK.Anyway, Mr T will be happy. Hope we're better against Lincoln... UTFG and all that 🏴☠️ But both Luke's provided the all important assists for the winning goals.

What was Grant Ward’s celebration about? Cupped his ears towards the Thatchers End did he not? If it was a reaction to the fans giving MT a hard time, they could all do with putting in better performances and playing for him more.

It’s embarrassing when we have supporters having a go at team, halfway through a game… the clue is in the name

For clarity I was talking about yesterday's game but will answer some of your points. Forbes you say is not young or inexperienced he has made 3 starts all in cup competitions and 3 substitute appearances and is 20 years old I don't think that's fair. The other players I named are young that's a Fact. You say about handbrake football and I agree in lots of the performances that's been the case but definitely not yesterday or at Reading. You mention a referee decision going our way against Shrewsbury and you are correct but you don't mention the awful decisions we got at Huddersfield and Reading, I accept you weren't at the game but we have had bad decisions against us. The Swindon performance was awful and Taylor got rightly criticised. Just for clarity it was 4-0 not 5-0 as you put. The handbrake has not been on in the last few performances. Westons goal yesterday was due to Mola attacking and being out of position. Reading away we deserved a point and the Rovers fans at the game seemed to agree.I have spoken to you face to face and enjoy your knowledge and I know you are a loyal fan. I'm on the fence with Taylor but will support him whilst he's manager and give credit when due. Have a good weekend.

Your prime rational for throwing him under the bus is the B Team trophy, a completion at least 80% couldn’t give a monkeys about. We are currently 6 points clear of the bottom 4, and the playoffs. Take away the top and bottom 4 and it is a very tight league, competing with some budgets that are far higher than ours. The owners have for some reason gone with a ‘Peterborough if it was made by Temu’ model, so it’s a squad of youngsters or older pros. Very few actually at their playing prime. There have been some bright spots at home, first 75 minutes of Charlton and second half of Shrewsbury game for example. We are also in the second round of the FA Cup, I’m sure Northampton and Huddersfield would be happy to swap places. Honest question, given the budget, facilities and ownership at BS7, what would be a realistic expectation for Rovers? We are were we are, and that is down to decades of underinvestment and lack of ambition, not solely on the shoulders of one man.

The general concern I see with MT is that the side don't look close to jelling. Still not sure what the tactics are. Regardless of that I'm fed up with the pro Barton chants. It's like wanting Fred West to do some building work. Not sure there were many bad reviews on his work. The issue was the Sh1t that came with it. Ok, an extreme example but I think that makes the point

MT is doing what's expected of him - nothing more, nothing less. The "brand" of football argument is bizarre. We're a sh*t club in league one ffs, not 90s Ajax or prime Barca. If MT starts underperforming (and bar Wigan and the pointless pizza cup that hasn't been the case) then fair enough - but, currently, we continue to beat those we should and lose to those that, in all likelihood, we should. Therefore the justification to sack him simply isn't there IMO, and a little bit of support from our supporters would surely only help us. Currently a small vocal element of our "support" is doing anything but.

Good to see the sensible posts getting 7 or 8 likes. Because the loudest ones post the same thing 50 times a day, it can seem like that is the majority opinion on here. Embarrassing any fans that sang those songs at 90 mins. Worse than teds. In the hat. UTG

Back to talking/writing about the actual match, I thought it was a good cup tie.
We have family to beat teams lower in the pyramid, so happy with the win, shared goals and that Weston put up a good show and had great support.
On the BBC report it did say WSM had more shots? I think Hutch alone had twice as many as they did.
With the nervousness around at 1-1, I would expect the TV companies to take an interest if we get an away tie to non league opposition in the next round.
Good to see Martin get a few more minutes. With Forde back and competition for places that would be good for our forward line.
Would like to see Bilingo go on loan just to play up front in the NL Apart from the natural instinct, he definitely has a lot of attributes to play there.

The absolute weapons singing ‘one Joey Barton’ in the Thatchers yesterday need to get a grip.
He’s gone, he’s not coming back and is currently whoring himself out on social media with attention seeking posts. We need to move forward as a club, not backwards.

And how did their idol do against Boreham wood at home in the cup? One of the most pathetic displays I’ve seen.
