If Sainsbury were as confident that the contract was null and void they would have walked away months ago, makes me think they are hoping to get a mediated deal to allow them to get out of it.Dont forget they have already offered several million to Rovers to get the contract cancelled so they must know that Rovers got them by the short and curlies "Already offered several million to Rovers", have they? Source? Chairmans answer to a question posed by a reporter

So the UWE have got the hump now as well, reading between the lines, not surprising really. I still seem to be in a minority who think NH could and should have kept us more updated on the issues.

Cant believe Higgs & co would get stuck with a out of date contract, surely he knows all the tricks in that department... Particularly when one considers that construction contracts are Nick Higgs' bread and butter.

If there was a cut off date that'll be why we threatened to take them to court last year so we could put the planning application back in for the extension to the delivery hours. They were delaying matters which the Judge will see through easier than a cheap net curtain hopefully. I also love the line below from Sainsburys QC, clearly this isn't over with just yet. Bring it on and at least it'll be over with in June one way or the other.
Regards Rich Utg
Sainsbury's lawyer Mark Wonnacott QC agreed with the club that it was desirable that the hearing should be fast-tracked.
He told the judge: "If we're stuck with this contract it's as much in our interest to know that quickly as it is the club's."

Yes, lets tell everyone what is going on, that should give Sainsbury the heads up nice and early. Sometimes it's best to keep very quiet.

Surely this isn't a grey area? Either there is a cut-off date in the contract or there isn't? Surely the planning conditions and what constitutes them being met are the grey area and not the date itself. Regardless, this looks like the final showdown.

"Already offered several million to Rovers", have they? Source? Chairmans answer to a question posed by a reporter That then begs the question why would they do that? , as this latest article mentions we failed to complete the contract by a cut off date. If that was the case why would they offer us one penny, let alone several millions. There is far more in this than any of us can speculate and I for one still think "the watertight contract" statement is the basis of the court case and surely Mr Higgs and Mr Watola will surely have to resign immediately if the judge agrees with Sainsburys that a cut off date exists in the contract.

Just over 3 months for Sainsburys to attempt to end this. £££.Soon find out how confident they are. If it does goes to court get down your local, church, mosque, hall or toilet of your choice in May.its 'going down to the wire'.

Yeah, the end is in sight. Either way, that's something.

Yeah, the end is in sight. Either way, that's something. Except the compensation route, which by the sound of it could drag on for some time.

Annoying that we've learned for from that article than from anywhere else in the last few months.

I think sainsbury's should be worried.
They have just been trying to string this out and bluff us.
Just my gut feeling. And after reading the writ several months back.

Couple of things that encourage me.
First one being the high profile of the judge overseeing the case.
Secondly, that it's been brought forward.

Can someone please reassure me that Watola had nothing to do with the contract ?
What a massive monent for the club and a potential zero to hero moment for Higgs.
