Wanting improvements and a return on investment, yes. But that doesn't have to be immediate. They've set themselves a three to five year target so needs to be seen in that context. Same for the Mem, doing nothing until it's needed isn't good business, especially if improvements take years to complete. Keep playing like we did on Saturday and they will have to factor in getting back from League 2 in their 3-5 year plan. Not to mention the drop in attendances. A couple more home games like last Saturday and you`ll be able to name the crowd, not just predict the size.

Early days at Twerton with small crowds, my mum asked my dad when the game started, his response was "When we get there".

It has taken a while for me to calm down enough to even post on this thread. That was without doubt the worst performance I've seen from a Rovers team for I can't remember how long? We really were lucky not to get smashed 6 or 7, good job Wigan weren't that clinical. Barnsley getting beaten 3-0 puts our performance there into perspective. We really need to learn how to defend corners and quickly, otherwise any good work is undone in a moment by a really soft goal. I think Martin is a bit of a loss here, as he did help out. Without sounding like a stuck record, we will continue to get beaten by teams that can play a bit because they will find a way to play around or through us. Think it's something we might need to get used to this season.... It’s Crystal clear to me that we have no midfield general who will show the necessary leadership and bollocks to get a grip of this young squad and drive them on.

Ward's clearly been given that task this season, which seems a brave decision given his injury record. I would have spent Lindsay's wages on back up for Ward and then signed a cheaper option as back up for Conteh.

Windows shut now I don’t see there’s much we can do. For Saturday I’d look to bring mola in to midfield he can play so I think he’d do a good job and he’s hard as nails , would give us decent defensive cover alongside conteh. I’d also switch to a formation with a back four but I can’t see that happening.

We are desperately crying out for a bit of creativity in midfield.

The manager has talked endlessly post match and pre match about “building relationships”, “developing partnerships” and having “time to grow”….particularly in relation to Promise and Ruel. He’s also talked about understanding within the “units”.
He has however neglected to allow that to happen in the most important area of the pitch - the midfield! He’s seen 6 players not play with the same combination for more than 2 games in a row.
It’s probably the most important area to develop and most definitely in terms of creativity the main area where you need confidence in yourself and your team mates and no fear of outcomes not being successful - ie If I get this wrong I’ll be out the side next week.
It’s scandalously stupid imo and shows a very poor understanding of attacking players mindset.

To be fair MT hasn't been helped with both Ward and Lindsay being out injured and Conteh away in international duty. Plus both Hutchinson and McCormack rarely put in decent performances.
As far as the other poster suggesting moving Mola into midfield, that's unlikely to happen with Moore missing the next 3 games. With Lindsay now fit not sure we need another DCM anyway.

So recently MT has come out and said we cant defend set pieces and players cant handle pressure. Not very encouraging is it!

Steady on as Gasify will be calling you out as having some kind of anti MT agenda.

We’re lacking creativity because we’ve got nothing on when we’ve got the ball. Thomas and bolingo are both our quickest players, they need to be either side of a striker not on the half way line backs to goal when they receive the ball. But we need that midfield general also.

We were no better after halftime on Saturday with Sinclair and Forde on the wings and playing with a back 4? Thomas in the last two matches has looked poor even when he has got the ball upfield. I've no idea if it's a confidence thing or not. I can't remember how he finished last season but he now looks a shadow of the player he was at certain times last season, even when he was playing at RWB.

Steady on as Gasify will be calling you out as having some kind of anti MT agenda. Bit cowardly, mentioning me and not using the Topper Gas mention tags.
