Just to be a little pedantic, Finals day rather than the Final itself - here's hoping for a Somerset Gloucestershire final on Saturday evening. Great wins for both in the CC yesterday.

South Glos born and bred but have always supported Somerset. I think it comes from being a bit of a glory hunter as a kid and seeing Richards, Botham and Garner strutting their stuff in the 80’s.

Made up with tonight, if somebody had offered me a 4-0 loss and Gloucestershire dominating Somerset in the T20 final I would've absolutely taken it. Up the Shire!!!
Mark Alleyne is one of my all time heroes, what a guy.

I'm a Somerset supporter too, and was really pleased to see a West Country final. If it couldn't be a Somerset win in that final then I'm pleased it was Glos (and not Slurry especially, or Sussex). Great pics of David Lawrence celebrating with the team in the media - yet another sad case of a prominent sportsman suffering with MND.

Delighted for Mark Alleyne and the whole team, and that D V Lawrence was there to see it. Best news for a long time.
As a long-time Glos member, I have nothing but admiration for Somerset, they produce some fine cricketers, and we are doing the same these days, I hope they win the Championship. And tbh, I find it hard to dislike Surrey these days given they provide a good chunk of the England team. The Somerset victory over Surrey in the Championship last week was a great game of cricket, even better than the Glos victory over Middlesex at Lord's.

Great finals day. I didn’t go having spent the week in Taunton watching the County Championship game. Don’t know if my heart could take any more! It was my cricketing equivalent to the 7-0 Scunthorpe win.
Well done Gloucestershire, on the day they were best team and deserved to win. I think Somerset after beating Surrey twice in a couple of days couldn’t do it again last evening. Well done David Payne, local Dorset lad to here. Best bowler on Saturday. It’s taken them longer than Somerset to realise that the way to counter all the test ground counties is to have a thriving youth academy system and develop your own players. We’ve been doing it for some time. Somerset’s problem is we are developing so many good youngsters there’s not always enough cricket to satisfy them hence why so many go out on loan. Gloucester now doing the same. It’s the only way to do it imo.
We continue with our quest for our holy grail at Lancashire. Win that and we’ll forget about Saturday night pretty quickly.

Completely agree as a long time Somerset member. I don’t hate Surrey either but tbh Batty and the Currans do their best to wind Somerset up. I guess it’s a kind of compliment but it makes it easier to enjoy the past week! At least Surrey do produce lots of great cricketers. Nottinghamshire just take them from their neighbouring counties as do Warwickshire and Lancashire to an extent.

Really pleasing seeing glory hunters from the Shire getting their arse handed to them.

Genuinely sad Somerset didn't win today. At least it was a proper match and not a bowl off or whatever.
