The point is these people feel they are not being listened to and they are upset about how they feel the police treat groups differently. To be fair to them nobody was ever asked if they agree with millions joining the country each year. That’s what GE are supposed to be for, but none of them achieved anything. So these people now feel that they need to stop legal protests and take to the street instead to voice anger. They’ve tried peacefully protesting and voting and such and it doesn’t achieve anything. Attacking people and burning down buildings is nuts though and I not help their cause in any way. The danager with that approach is that you are taking the law into your own hands. I come from the inner city in high rise living. I don't like social deprivation : social inequality and the gap between the rich and poor. It don't justify me along with other anarchist undermining the democratic set up because I don't like elitism or capitalism. It be far better if a group was formed peacefully which represents their views ( protesters). I agree there should be NO censorship and people should be allowed to say what they want. But we live in a democracy and we are free to vote. In defence of Labour they are trying to lower the age to 16. If a group get's elected which represents the views of the protestors then that's democracy. Similarly I wouldn't support a left wing group who wanted to undermine social order. Until another model is found . We have a democratic process every 5 years and everyone is free to vote ( unless stated ). One might argue that the first past the post system is completely undemocratic. I don’t care either way, it doesn’t affect me. Just saying Reform got way more votes than Libs but far less seats. That isn’t fair and it wouldn’t be the case in most countries.

I really think this should be moved to general chat as it will achieve nothing except winding people up. I would just make one comment though, how amazing after 14 years of decaying public services, falling living standards and widespread corruption it's only since a Labour government that these 'patriots' want to protest about the state of the country.

Given the current situation and the tension that's currently surrounding the country will certain matches be called off. Lots of protests planned for the weekend football hooligans and protests not a good combo No it will be on. Rovers v Northampton wont be policed as not a category a match. Would be in danger if it was Brum this weekend or Exeter , matches that require policing. Possibly not. A more mundane reason is an outbreak of some illness in the Northampton Town squad. Apparently.

And remember this was agreed by Winston Churchill who supported democracy against the totalitarian rule of Marxist and Facist. Anyway I believe in ' freedom of speech' even if it challenges my views and ideologies. What I don't accept is anarchistic behaviour. Starmer have been too soft. He needs to act now !. I would say the same if anarchist was trying to undermine a right wing government. National security comes first !.

If they break the law like a group of anarchist broke into a building in Bristol this week . I totally condemn it left or right or anti -Jewish. The same goes for oil protestors breaking into buildings. However : if it is done peacefully within the law . I am Liberal whether its right or left or whatever.

Let’s face it, racist, far-right animals need getting off the streets.
Supposedly standing up for our kids and country, by burning libraries, damaging buildings, stealing from shops, and attacking innocent bystanders and emergency service workers!
They haven’t really got the intelligence to realise what they’re doing, but need removing, either by the police or by counter demonstrations.

Any Mods about?
Please move to general chat as: 1. This has got very little to do with Rovers 2. It is very likely to get pretty heated, very quickly
Happy to debate the points raised, but not on Gas Works

If it threatens Rovers games going ahead, then it should stay where it is really.

Why should a cancellation even be considered. Why should we give way to a bunch of yobs whose only aim is inflict damage to property, the police and anyone who gets in their misguided and disgusting way of life. These animals get what they deserve - nothing. Surely the issue is those yobs tend to be football yobs and, sadly, they could well be Rovers fans, there's even one shown in a Rovers shirt on Facebook at last weekend's march/troubles. The other issue is can the police cope with a football match and a march taking place at the same time? Please don’t say they’re football yobs. They have nothing to do with football. They are yobs. The fact that some of them also attend football matches is pure coincidence. If there was no football, do you think these cretins would not find someone to fight?

Net migration last year was apparently only 685k - and bear in mind we welcomed a good number of Ukrainians over since the Russia invasion: Unless you are talking about residents of the UK having so many children - in which case; I agree - I feel like a protest.. now where do I loot first? Lush or Greggs? PS. Sorry to hear your GE vote didn't achieve anything. Vote harder next time.
