People at director/owner level seem to be happier to switch. How many clubs has Ken Bates been involved in? Then there is Mike Ashley with both Newcastle and Rangers. Even Harry Dolman was a Rovers director before resigning over the sale of Eastville (He was right about that) Couldn't do it myself.

milan Mandaric. like you said, it's not for me. all or nothing for me. That's slightly different though as he seems to be in the sport just to make money, not swapping clubs between Sheffield United & Wednesday etc? Talking of which having bought Wednesday for £1m MM's just sold them for £30m to a Thai fishing co. owner, meanwhile SL gone through £50m with no return! I wonder if MM would like to "invest" in Rover next?

The point is there is a difference between watching a few games and being a Rovers or City fan. I have watched the odd game at places others than Rovers but that does not make a true supporter of those clubs even though I have paid my money and sat with the home fans. After 50 years I don't see you changing colours again Henbury, because you have made the transition from someone watching a few games to someone who has a certain team in their blood.
Anyway Lansdown has not really achieved anything at City yet, they are still playing in the 3rd tier at or below the level they always have been. We of course are under performing, but I don't think it takes Lansdown's money or even the UWE to get back to the level we should be at. I am certainly not envious of the Bristol Sport thing and don't lust after a free scarf so we call all look the same on the TV, which is really all a bit sad.

This is old news. I've known Jon for a number of years and know Steve well enough to say hello. The story I heard was that Steve did go to Eastville but Jon wanted to go to a City match with his friends, so Steve took him...it all then developed from there.

Still odd he came out with the "nobody will here about Rovers again" if he did genuinely support Rovers in the past. I use to watch Mangotsfield Utd as a youngster but wouldn't want to disappear just because I now follow Rovers.

I saw Pompey play about 10 times in the 80s because that was where my mum and dad were from and when we went there to see my grandparents my dad took me to the games. I loved it and was a Pompey fan it was all I knew. Then they took me to Twerton when I was 6 and I loved it and immediately became a Gashead. I look out for Pompey results but I don't really care that much about them. I'm gas through and through but my first experiences of live football were Pompey nd I'll never forget those games stood in the Fratton end.

I've never been able to find any real evidence about that supposed quote, only hearsay, are you sure it wasn't Higgs that said it?

Just watching Subs Bench on Made In Bristol tv and Lansdown has confessed he used to be a gashead standing on the tote end before we moved to Twerton which was when he changed allegiances. Apologies to anybody that was already aware of this! Obviously he wan't a Gashead.......was just an onlooker Now he's just a cock

They even refer to him saying it on the OTIB Plenty of things said on here and many other forums is a total nonsense and plenty either made up or a case of Chinese whispers, as long as OTIB said it was true it must be then!

Being cast as the devil incarnate is intriguing given that our very own chairman has all but destroyed our club in his quest to ignore running the club over tending to a failed stadium bid he wanted to cash in on, funny old world.
