Just watching Subs Bench on Made In Bristol tv and Lansdown has confessed he used to be a gashead standing on the tote end before we moved to Twerton which was when he changed allegiances.
Apologies to anybody that was already aware of this!

I knew he used to stand on The Tote but he wasn't a gashead. Once a gashead, always a gashead. I am gas until I die etc

Not a real man, glad to be rid him. How fickle is that?. Wonder how good the Sheeds feel being funded by a former Gashead.
As pirateman says "not a real gashead" and in my opinion he has no right to use the term.

Its the very fact he's not a dyed in the wool Ted that allowed him to take the Club and its history then rebrand them in to the Soccer branch of Bristol Sport, I wouldn't want a tie in with any other sporting organisation. We are Bristol Rovers then, now and always.

Stevie took young Jon when he was 6 in 1988 to his first football match and BS3 was the closest to home by far.
We all need to remember how those first experiences are so powerful. This was the "Will you ever beat the Gas era?"
Had we not moved to Bath in 1986 Jon Stephen would have watched the Gas and been hooked on a different coloured shirt.
Luck and chemistry. C'est la vie.

'Right son, I know you want to go to a football match, and now you're 6, I will take you to one. I'm a proper Gashead, but because they play an extra 20 minutes' drive away, I'm going to take you down to Ashton Gate for your first match.'

Odd he seems to have such hated for Rovers now when he use to support them, you'd think he'd still have a soft spot for the club not try and destroy it? Just shows what an horrible, tax dodging, man he now is.

What a load of twaddle - he may have been to watch Rovers but no real supporter of a club would change to support their biggest rival just because it was easier to get there. He never was a gashead, and if he thinks he was he just does not get it !!!
In fact when you think about it, he fits in well at Ashton with all the other fickle reds.

My dads family were all City fans & grandfather a season ticket holder who lived two minutes from the Gate! My dad took us to Rovers in the 70's because the crowds were smaller and it was easier to take two boys! We never looked back!!! My old man said be a City fan................

Hardly surprising he's also changed where he lives to save money must have cost him to much to travel to Bath

as other have said I knew this already but it is still a bit of a shocker to actually see it laid out so clearly!
totally bizarre.
I can understand someone going off a team, or even then supporting some teams miles away (loads of people, including gasheads, have very strong alliegances elsewhere as well), but to switch to a rival and then become a billionaire and pump money into them [and all Bristol sport EXCEPT the team you previously went to watch] is weird in anyone's language. It's like a lot of these modern day take-overs where there seems to be no real interest in the club, its fans or its history, or even worse a take-over fails at one club so they move onto a random other club.
