Colonel Gibson - Ex Army Eddie Jennings - Ex Scout Ian Holloway (if Wael never sold or Kuwaiti’s agreed) Joey Barton Tom Gorringe Imagine this lot together, you couldn’t make it up and if Dave Bright had survived (ex Golf shop manager, sacked by new owners) we’d have had one the best ever leadership teams in sport 😂👍 No wonder Wael was doing so many direct debits to keep the club going. One person missing on this and he’s a Gashead as well, Chris Sanigar, I’m sure boxing would have helped us somehow. Chris is a shrewd guy and a good honest bloke who would would never bad mouth anyone. Agree we've lost a potential top class management team - i don't think. Really 😂. Look into his past.

Ahh, are you annoyed ? Tbh when Wael hired Joey, I was underwhelmed; since BD Snr I have seen 36 (inc Taylor) managers at BRFC, with the common thread being they all came and went, during that time I have been watching home and away, and love it, WW and NC tickets bought I cannot wait, during that time I have never clutched my pearls in horror, we all know or have known some wronguns. I assess managers on the pitch. When people pipe down about Joey and them maybe we can all move on. Until then pot kettle black. I am more disappointed currently BRFC have only sold 550 for WW and 1160 for NC, seems to me there a number on here who do not love Taylor enough to watch the boys away. I don’t care how many games you’ve seen or how many decades you’ve been a supporter calling him T2 looks disrespectful and idiotic. Many seem to agree, and many of them are calling out the constant posting against Barton like I am. From my perspective he’s gone, wasn’t doing the business and should have gone. But has assembled a great squad for MT to do the business with. It’s unfair to call MT T2 just because a few posters are obsessed with Barton. Besides, it seems to be quietening down as MT starts getting the results and gets his feet settled by assembling his own backroom and playing team. I don't care about your perpetual droning either, life is unfair, thank goodness for freedom of speech. You are blinkered and completely missing the point, I don't really care about Joey, he will be okay and do just fine, Its the constant Joey hypocrisy, once it stops then just maybe .... Stopping threads like this one, may be start.

No one is bigger than the club sorry. He could have just said something about good recent performances but chose to say 'I would never wish anything bad on anyone, but he's not who I would have picked in one million years'. When Taylor has gone I'll still be supporting the club too, and getting behind whoever is managing the teamUnless it is somebody else you do not like, say a Joey, and or anybody else who does not fit within your moral compass. Not read, or intend to read whatever is currently causing a split in opinions. Although imo Ollie is a Gas legend, definitely in my top three all time best players,; I can never begin to understand why so many on here continually belittle a player who has walked the walk, gas through and through, and was good enough to regularly play in a side who use take the Sh*t apart for fun. Holloway is definitely in my all time Gas team but that doesn’t mean I think he’s now well past his best as a manager or even a director of football. He’s obviously a Gashead but like others have said , when does he turn up to watch a game if ever ? His comment about Taylor went over the top , yes he could have said he’d of gone with someone else but to say he wouldn’t have picked him in a million yrs is more of an insult . A bit like calling him Tisdale 2 🙄

I got behind Barton, for what it's worth, as our manager. I called him out when he acted like a plank also. Don't bother reading the article, it's click bait and I wish I hadn't bothered. I agree Holloway was a legend, but he can be a bit of a plank too

On Holloway. FGS leave it out guys. Bloke is a Rovers legend. Has family still attached to the club and is an all round pleasant chap. What is wrong with people? This all comes from an interview which some people have interpreted a certain way? Who Dam cares? Just for the record, Holloway would sit in my all time Rovers XI and I said I would also have appointed him manager over Barton when he was interviewed. I’d have no issue as well if he came in now either in a DOF role he spoke about. We were debating/discussing his credentials of being a good manager these days, his recent attempts show he might have lost his touch. I think in life, you can say many things and also have opinions but keep them to yourself. I think Alex Ferguson has done this, you’ve never heard him talk about the Glazers or the club in a bad way. The same of Wenger, he was so hurt he never went to the Emirates for years after he was sacked, he just left quietly. I don’t think Holloway’s article was malicious but I do wonder why he feels the needs to talk about private interviews, and why he thinks he’s a better choice than the current manager if he loves the club so much? Surely he could say “I was in discussions recently, not many clubs would have the ability to pull me back in this way, it didn’t work out, I felt I could add something but I wish my dear club all the best” The issue with Holloway and Barton and even Warnock is the story is always about them but I really feel with the latter, he has some much credit in the bank because he’s continually proved his a good football manager, the first two haven’t shown this.

Blimey so we’ve turned on Ollie now have we? One of our most successful players, football played under him as manager very good until Spring 2000 when it went wrong. I wouldn’t want him back but some of the posts on here well……. Loyal and true eh? UTG! I’d have agreed with you prior to his dig at MT and seeming bitterness that he didn’t get the job. Why did he feel the need to have that published ? Well KP, I don’t need to read the book to know that Ollie can be a bit flakey but whatever his faults he’s one of us and has been for over 40 years, faults and all. And let’s face it I’d never approach him for a serious, considered discussion about most things, he’s not that sort of guy is her? He is what he is and his time has been and gone and every time we have a vacancy the lazy media always go to him for a comment, because they love his one-liners. Did you really believe what he said about wanting the ‘82 ers in the PL? I didn’t. He said it because he was trying to be serious and relevant and came over as neither. And anyway Bristol probably does need a PL club, just not them. Been, done, gone. UTG!

Holloway is still trying to stay relevant. Hes got no punditary work, hes not linked with any management roles bar us (probably through association rather than a genuine chance) and hes doing loads of interviews with nobody bits of podcasting and local rags. He marked his own card with us over the years and there is probably only ever 1 time in the last 20 years where appointing him would have ever been a good idea and that is when we sacked Trolls and it was utter carnage. Hes probably the only person that would have sorted Cams and co out. But he was employed then anyway. The only upside to it was he is mates with Penny and he might have been tipped off with some good signings. You're probably right, but backing Barton now is a terrible hill to die on Backing Barton at any point is a terrible hill to die on.

He’s like a washed up boxer who’s been retired 10 yrs convinced he can make a comeback and kick some ass against the younger whippersnappers. As someone else has said, why doesn't he go to someone like Gloucester, Hereford or one of the other NLS clubs and give something back. His old mate Bater has done the NL rounds for years and is doing a cracking job at Bath. He might then get a move back up into L2/1 if he did well.

He did well at Larkhall but I didn't realize he went to Bath.

So Ollie should go non league because Phil Bater has done the rounds? Ollie was a PL manager and a top flight pro player. Why should he go and work in non league 😆. For all you know-you're itk aren't you-he offers his experience to the likes of Phil.

No one is bigger than the club sorry. He could have just said something about good recent performances but chose to say 'I would never wish anything bad on anyone, but he's not who I would have picked in one million years'. When Taylor has gone I'll still be supporting the club too, and getting behind whoever is managing the team Who suggested anyone was bigger than the club? 'I would never wish anything bad on anyone, but he's not who I would have picked in one million years' So this statement is what all the fuss is about? Have people seriously got nothing better to do? It's an opinion isn't it? He said he wouldn't have picked him. So what🤷♂️ I haven't listened to the interview, but when he said "I wouldn't have picked him in a million years" does that mean he wouldn't have chosen him or predicted him as a possible candidate. That phrase is ambiguous and definitely open to interpretation.
