We can’t have a repeat of the south stand for the east and north ends.
South stand is fine for what it is but we need proper facilities elsewhere for us to not have a joke of a stadium.

We cannot even fill the current ground, no need to increase capacity, just improve the awful Dickensian facilities; ahh, does the owner have any real intention, money, who knows ? Doh = not going to happen.

Doh = not going to happen. Thankfully you’re not in charge. It’s this sort of backwards thinking that would forever keep us plying our trade in the lower leagues.

Problem is it will take a massive investment to get from one to the other, with no guarantee of a decent return when the owner gets there.

Lived in Staffs for 50 years and Tamworth are on TV Live tonight.Their rickety ground has changed very little but another ground nearby Hednesford has been transformed since my day. Both rough areas not far north of Brum.Great atmosphere and have refereed in front of very fervent fans at both. Both in the FA Cup still so big weekend for them both.Big weekend for the Gas too!!!!!!!!!

Maybe they are waiting for external investors before doing any upgrades ?

Doh = not going to happen. I thought better Ground equals more appeal equals bigger gates? Better ground + poor on field performance = MK Dons
Small ground + good on field performance = Tickets in short supply
Better Ground + Good on field performance = Growth of the football club
You can draw your own conclusions as to where Rovers are at the moment.
Personally, I can't see the incentive for Hussain AlSaeed to invest more in the ground at this stage, until we start to see crowds above 80% of current capacity on a regular basis. That's only going to happen with entertaining and winning football.

I keep saying to people on this subject, just look at Brighton before they moved to their new stadium. They were getting similar crowds to what we usually get. After they moved their attendances just progressively went up and up. Agree though if the football is entertaining and we are winning, whatever league we are in, the crowds will come. Unfortunately we dont usually get both together

Unfortunately we dont usually get both together Brighton is probably the best example of doing this right, and they were potentially in a worse position (league and ground) than Rovers before 2010. However, Tony Bloom's ÂŁ93m investment, as well as shrewd managerial appointments made all the difference. Let's be honest, the level of investment through the Al Qadi's and AlSaeed's is never going to be at this level.

Regardless there's no talk of a new stadium just a bodge job of the Mem, even if we get two new stands we're still stuck with the two old stands.

I’m totally with Roadie in that I desperately hope that any future improvements to Mem isn’t Lego like ! Don’t get me wrong , the south stand is a big improvement but let’s be honest it’s done on the cheap and the pillars really annoy me. The crowd fluctuations don’t worry me at all , if we get winning football and a promotion to the championship we’ll easily sell 12k plus tickets every week. I'm comfortable with the South Stand replicated elsewhere as a stop gap, building better in time when funding is there. However, if money is tight, the East stand has to be the one where we don't scrimp and save. Pour all our resources in to a really good stand then go from there. Of course that's possibly not what they promised, with the threat of extensions being added to either side of the East stand, but it was so long ago that anything could have changed. I'm not sure if Wael's possible departure will influence anything. Finger crossed for a really good stand, and preferably before I shuffle off from this world. I've been watching mainly mediocre football in definitely mediocre surroundings since 1968 and it would be amazing to witness a proper big stand in a ground we play at.

We've not seen anything to suggest anything is actaully happening- Could always be all talk...We were told we'd be hearing more in 2 weeks in June, just as a few more season tickets needed shifting!
