The expectation is for 16,000 . 18,000 was the ideal but unlikely to happen.
So subtract the capacity of the west stand ,the new south stand and the seating in the current east stand from 16,000. Then you will get an idea of what might be planned for the east, north and cooling areas of the ground. So maybe a max of 10,000 places ? 2000 new east stand seats Current 2500 east terrace places (?) 200 cooling stand seats (?) So leaves 5300 places for the north/north east areas.
So would that just mean continuing the east stand all the way around the north end and keeping existing terracing ?
Seems the most straight forward way to do things.

That's what I tried to do the other day and my figures were fairly similar in that I reckon it'll be around 10,000 split between the East and North. Possibly 6k and 4k respectively. With that in mind, a new East stand could be the 1k currently in place plus extending either side about the same. That leaves the decision to keep the terracing as is or to add seats here too as a two tier stand. Looking at the North, we could install either a South Stand version with or without keeping the terracing. Quite a lot of variables, looking forward to seeing the artist impressions.

Mods, any chance you could merge the South Stand East Stand redevolpment threads into just one thread? The Ground development thread?

I'm quite pleased with the look of the new stand and it shows the owners are apparently serious about a refurb. How serious remains to be seen. If we're still here in two years waiting for news on the East stand wings I'll be a little disappointed. Unless the new owners were pulling strings months before the takeover the new stand design is down to Wael, what they've got planned for the East Stand wings may be something completely different. It's not even clear if they are using the same architects. I rather think they were involved months before the takeover was announced. These things take a long time to be agreed. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the building and funding of the south stand was a key part of those negotiations. If not, it's a bit weird that Wael decided to build it and sold over half the club just after doing so.

Iirc, they first started talks in February, Wael is underwriting the build via the Mem charge as the funds were from a commercial loan.

The fans pay the club millions but over a longer period. I remember someone doing the maths that , when NH was in charge, the fans paid in circa 30 million over his tenure. The fans are the club How do we run up a £3mil debt every year then? Ask Wael. The losses trebled after the Al Qadis bought the club. Not a question I could answer.

This. What does it not being my money have to do with it. I didn't buy a football club. If it going cost 10s Millions to build a stadium, then thats what its going to cost. The fans are the club According to Wiki Nick Higgs was chairman for seven and a half years, so if the maths are correct, this would mean an average of 4 million a year that fans paid into the club.

Bristol live reporting the plans for some of the land at the quarters to be used for housing. 70 homes by all accounts. Should help pay for the improvements there.
Anyone know what happened to the plans to square off the existing building? They were submitted ages ago.

70 houses up there would be worth a *lot* of money. Is this why we now we see why our new owners wanted in ?!

Hope it won’t take up too much space. Selling part of the training ground seems like a backward step. The land represents opportunity and the less of it the less opportunity we have.
However if we need to sell part of it to expand the site the that’s understandable.

I don’t know, was just putting some “meat on the bone” to KP’s statement that it worked out at 4 million a year.
