Would fit in with an unsubstantiated rumour I heard the other week, along the lines of money coming in that wouldn't require the Sainsburys wedge. Might be pure boll*x, let's see!

If the board has secured finance and backing from another source then fair play. We could sell the mem for housing and have a stadium. I don't really care about the size or how grand it is, just a new modern looking altogether looking ground would b fantastic. Eastville will always be special to me but like the mem, it was a group of sheds thrown together. Nothing looks uniform. A bit of a stand here , some terracing there. I was well impressed with Rotherham's ground the last time we played there. Something like that would be more than adequate

We should be heading for what we originally were after especially if we harbour dreams to keep in touch with that other shower from bs3 in my opinion

That looks a bit like the redeveloped Memorial Stadium proposal from 2007, but nicer. Shame we couldn't do something like that. Maybe we will if the Nectar boys wriggle out of the watertight contract.

Although you have to hope the club can find the funds to build the UWE or re-develope the mem rather than there be more years waiting for pp/appeals etc

Where else would we move? The only decent location big enough to build a football stadium would be the old Rolls-Royce grounds in Filton.
Which won't come cheap!

From what I understand nothing can be built on the old Rolls Royce site, something to do with contaminated land. Shame would be a good site really, plenty big enough, good links to motorway etc

Without wanting to suggest it's pure boll*x, who would want to invest in a business that is currently owed £30M due to a 'watertight' contract but has yet to receive a penny 18+ months after it was due? Anyone serious wanting to invest in Rovers would do so because of the £30M/UWE development. Anyone investing because this 'watertight' deal won't happen isn't someone I would want involved with the club.

[br} I Was told this was mentioned by Two board members to fans at a private meeting. (That we were having the mem land valued and looking at other potential sites) it may be that this is being done in case sainsburys pull out. I always felt there is nothing we can do to force them to honour the contract and that we will settle.

Shame would be a good site really, plenty big enough, good links to motorway etc Rest assured it will be built on. Site will be decontaminated quite easily compared to other recent projects in the area. Sites with far more contamination, i.e old chemical work sites at Avonmouth/Portishead have been built on in recent years and the RR Site will be no different.

Haven't we been looking for 'potential sites' for about 30 years ? Just watched the FL Show and noticed Oldham are building a new stand on the side of the pitch. Considering they pulled out of the Ched Evans deal stating the club couldn't survive if their sponsors cancelled, how the hell can they afford that? Then you think of teams like Dagenham and Torquay who have pathetic crowds but can afford to build new stands. So why have we never even attempted to sort the Mem? We seem to always go for the huge project rather than just slowly develop what we have.
