The SC have raised nearly £800 for Nick Anderton's cap. bristolroverssc.co.uk/nick-andertons-cap/Sorry I don't know how to add the links from the SC pages. Also the upcoming Former Players Association meal will see the International style Rovers caps being presented to the players attending. If the mods could add the appropriate links that might help get more interest. I know it has been mentioned on other threads but I was speaking to some of the bucket collectors last home game and they were privately a bit disappointed with the donations. Pre cashless, we had it organized so that someone with say a tenner would buy a programme, then a 50/50 and the bucket collectors would stand just behind us so they could increase the chances of any loose change. Unless it was well advertised in advance, I am not sure how much a bucket collection would actually raise for Nick as the majority of people now only attend the Mem with cards. In that regard, the SC page article includes a link to the on line details for donations for Nick. One of the initiatives I raised whilst on the SC committee was "Coppers for the Club" whereby fans could donate their lose change at collection tins by the tills at 199 or Pirate Leisure and at the SC match day shop. It is surprising how a bit of shrapnel can accumulate. I think this simple idea raised a few hundred quid for the Sharescheme over the years. (I suggested to Tom and Dave B, quite a while ago, using the same concept, re offering fans the chance to round up their card sales to the next full pound, with the "rounded up" small change going to the Community Trust. I know this facility is available as some shops use this and restaurants allow you to add a percentage tip. Tom acknowledged but I have not heard anything further). I degress. We often received quite a few foreign coins in the collection tins which is incredibly hard to convert in sterling in this country. I don't think there is anywhere in Bristol that offers this service. By chance, I am going near-ish to one of the sites that exchanges foreign coins to sterling in Birmingham on Thursday, so if you are attending Tuesdays game and have some unwanted foreign coins, please pass than on to Jamie at the SC shop and I will try (time allowing) and get those converted on Thursday to add to Nick's collection.

Please note that there will be an opportunity to make a donation in cash at tomorrow's game against Cambridge.
If you would like to make a cash donation, please come to the Supporters Club Cabin where we will be taking the "Bucket Collection". All donations will be gratefully accepted.
If you would like your name to be recorded on the list of sponsors, please put your cash into a sealed envelope with your name on the front and we will do the rest.
Many thanks

My email about this was passed onto him several weeks ago by Tom Gorringe and he has not even had the decency to reply to me. I even offered to get a group of collectors together from this forum for a couple of hours on a matchday to man the buckets around the ground. Bit disappointed if this is the result of my suggestion a single bucket at the Supporters Club hut.

It's great that the SC have got involved, and will be collecting cash donations at the cabin tomorrow. Surely this invalidates the suggestion that you have to a registered charity in order to collect cash outside the ground? By collecting at the gates and turnstiles, people don't have to seek you out in order to make a donation, assuming that they know of the one collection point in the first place. Disgraceful that the club are not being proactive about maximising the potential of donations for Nick.

I sell programmes and 50/50s by the Community Trust office just inside the Trubshaw entrance to the car park.
If anyone doesn't want to go to the SC shop, they can pass any donations to me and I will take them to the SC shop when I finish selling.
Ps, I am not sure how many programmes are going to be ordered today in light of the complaints about recent sell outs, but best to get to the stadium by 2pm, if recent games are anything to go by.

Thanks to everyone who donated.
I passed quite a hefty bucket to the SC shop so hopefully the collection raised a decent amount.
I'm sure the totals will be announced shortly.

Hi All,
A huge thanks to everyone who donated on Saturday - we raised the sum of £408.13 which will be added to those donations already made by bank credit. I would like to remind you that this is a Fans initiative that allows the Fans to provide their own measure of support for Nick and to show him that we are all a part of the Gas Family.
We will be running a similar collection at the Plymouth game (hopefully with more collection points this time). Please see the Supporters Club website for more details.
Again - a huge thanks.

PS - There seem to be two threads on this subject - I have left this message on both

Although this collection is being done in the name of the SC caps fundraising, I am pretty sure all the donations are going to Nick. If there are any volunteers, please contact slam or Jamie at the match day sales hut, tomorrow or around 1pm on Saturday. I brought my own bucket for the last game, so it might be worth doing the same? It should be pretty busy on Saturday so hopefully we should be able to beat the total raised at the last home game. Please let your mates know about this, so they can remember to bring some cash. Thanks

I see that the SC are organizing another bucket collection for Nick on Saturday from their various donation points. With a big crowd and a bit of advance notice, it should help raise a decent amount of money. It seems that the FC are procrastinating and are seemingly taking ages to organize what should be a simple task. Let's hope that the promised one off volunteers are good to their word and are also there to provide more places around the stadium that fans can donate to help Nick and his family.

It probably needs the FC to promote it on Social Media, in order for people to be aware that volunteers are required, and also to bring some cash!

Hi All,
I would just like to reiterate the news that the Supporters Club will be holding another bucket collection in aid of Nick Anderton at Saturday's Game against Plymouth. Further information is on the Supporters Club website.
Hopefully, we will have a bumper crowd and that will transform itself into another bumper collection for Nick. The Supporters Club have a few more collectors lined up for Saturday too. If any Gashead has any inclination to make a contribution can I ask you to bring cash and, if you would like your name added to the list of donors, please will you put your contribution in a sealed envelope with your name printed on the front.
I would like to confirm that this is an opportunity for all Gasheads to make a contribution. This is an initiative from the Supporters Club on behalf of all fans such that we can show Nick that we all belong to the Gas Family. It is entirely separate from the additional support that is being provided directly by the Football Club.
Finally, thank you so much for your support.
Steve Lamble BRSC

Just in case anyone was not aware, the SC caps donations have raised over £2,000 for Nick and his family.
Thank you.
Donations can continue to be made at the SC match day shop.
Donations are also being made for Marcus Stewart's cap in aid of the MND Foundation.
Don't forget you also can still pick up some special Rovers related Christmas presents at the SC match day shop v Port Vale.
