I thought he was absolutely outstanding in the air and on the ground today, and his long-passing was pretty on-point for once. I think he is probably our most under-appreciated player. All the defence do their bit, but Tom's been here a while now and he is incredibly consistent yet overlooked. First name on the team sheet atm.

He is looking more and more like the player I thought he was going to be. Keep it up Tom.

My player of the season so far. Strikers win you games, Defenders win you titles. I think if we don't go up, he will be gone in the summer for decent money.

On a par with Sinclair for player of the season.
We all knew he had this in him. He showed it when he first came on loan here to join up with Bolger.
Think DC had some harsh home truths with him at the end of the season, I'm sure his interview post Mansfield regarding life outside of football was aimed at Parkes etc.

Parkes has been one of my favourite players without doubt, and on Saturday I thought he gave a top performance. I tried to start a ''PARKSEY, PARKSEY, PARKSEY!'' chant... hopefully we can get that one going nice & loud on Tuesday, to let him know we have noticed how well he's playing.
We've had so many bad ones over the years... when we get one of our players doing really well, we need to let them know how much we appreciate it!

Our centre halves have been excellent this season, that includes Trottman, but Parkes has been so consistant, he is the only one who can bring the ball out of defence, and now the silly mistakes are gone from his game he is looking like a leader again. My player of the season so far

Parkes has been top drawer this season, and McChrystal has improved massively since the opening games as well.
Don't mean to be negative in all this, but I wonder how much DC's fitness plan has done for him? Looked a completely different bloke in pre-season and it has no doubt helped him. I wonder how much improvement we could have seen from all of our players over the last few years if our managers had been as ruthless?

Parkes has been exceptional this season - though sure I remember some giving him all kinds of sh** around the Eastleigh game when he made a mistake.
When he's confident he's capable of playing much higher. Also he is making quite a habit out of that long ball across to the right wing, that actually seems to be working much more often now.
If we don't go up, he'll be long gone.

Sinclair will probably get player of the season, but Parkes deserves it imo; 36 starts (as well as fitting in England C matches) to 26 appearances is quite a big difference in contribution.

Think Parkes has benifited from a stint in the conference. Hopefully he'll step up when we're promoted.

He has had a fantastic season for us and I think he has really benefited from the harsh truths it appears DC gave him a few months ago. He has only just turned 23 and I can't see a reason why he can't go on to be a top League 1 defender as he has years ahead of him yet.

Top defender, glad he's got a thread of his own here. He still gets shìt from certain people at games, but in my view he's player of the season so far. Came across really well in his post match Alty interview, seems a genuine bloke. Like poster above before me says, playing in the conference has maybe given him a bit of confidence to think (not in an arrogant way) he can play the ball out a bit more due to lower quality opposition, and he looks a transformed player.

He oozes confidence and class in bringing the ball out, I love it!
Just got to hope we keep hold of him in the summer! Could see him being one of the most likely to leave.
