Belshaw 7 made one magnificent save to preserve his clean sheet
Hoole7 Taylor 7 Connolly 7 Anderton 6
Coutts 7 Finley 7
Nicholson 7 E. Anderson 8 MOM what a stroke of luck missing out on the player we were chasing. Some Gasheads near me today reckon Newcastle already value him at £20m H. Anderson 7
Collins 6 Great work rate but final pass or shot just not quite on the mark - did well to get his goal though
Subs: Whelan 5 Thomas 6 Loft 5
Ref 5 Stevenage 3 very poor and lucky not to get beaten by double figures

Belshaw 8.5 2 brilliant saves and commanded box again.
Hoole 9 best defender that actually was effective as wing back by getting into the opposition box Taylor 8 usual commanding self. Connolly 8 stalwart and doesn't look out of place. Anderton 8 old bugger compared to rest of defence.
Coutts 8.5 captain marvel (not the powdered milk) Finley 9 sublime first goal.
Nicholson 9 finding his true form. E. Anderson 9.5 m o m most complete performance an absolute maistro in mid and took his goal well. H. Anderson 8.5 played himself into must be included, ran rugged.
Collins 8.5 another energetic performance and we'll poached goal
Subs: Whelan 7 able bodied replacement. Thomas 6.5 nice play but needed that extra touch. Loft 7.5 found space and made nuisance, I thought it was his shot that almost crept under bar, for Collins follow up but happy to be corrected.
Ref 8 let the game flow. Stevenage 4 poor. Would have been more if tisdale tisdale had given us a wave(?) but, no. Nice to see Linesy and Upson do ok, just that, ok, but on another day a fair result would have been 2-8. Where have we seen that before? (.....a promotion season?).
Whoah..... arguably as dominant away day as you'll ever see with a feeling of Reading 6-0 for anyone whom is old enough to remember? It's incredibly difficult to find fault with a follow up near perfect showing from Tues.
Where's the familiar cr@p football of the last 2 years gone, that we've all got to know?
I know it's 2 performances against a (no disrespect) below average positioned and 6 injury inflicted opponents, but there's not just a bedazzling inter play, back heels, flicks passes and touches to wonder about, there's an atmosphere of wholeness and team spirit. Certainly this calender year....long may it continue.... another amazing consideration is the average age of the defence? ....and it's total inequity with the correlation in maturity? Compared to last season when we had the privilege of an experienced defender "writing an apology letter" (if you believe it?)....
I have to pinch myself, is this the Bristol Rovers I pay money to see..... and now actually enjoy watching? For a change? Strange waters, indeed.. UptheGas!

Belshaw 7.5. Didn’t have much to do but did it very well.
Hoole 8.5. Two excellent last ditch challenges in the last few minutes in our box (I was at that end so close to me). Good going forward. Taylor. 8. Can we sign him permanently? Connolly 8. Getting better. Anderton. 7.5. A solid performance.
Coutts. 8.5. He and Finley and Elliot A ran the game. Stevenage didn’t know what was going on. E Anderson. 8.5. Marvellous. Can’t remember when we had such a good loanee in midfield or upfront. McKeever maybe. Presume we’ve no chance of signing him permanently. Finley. 9. Man of the match for me. Covered every inch of the pitch. H Anderson. 8. Good game.
Nicholson. 8. Excellent.
Collins. 8. Always available. The defenders hadn’t a clue what to do.
Subs. Whelan. 7.5. Good pro. Thomas. 7.5. Ran around with good effect. Loft. 7.5. My first glimpse of him. I hadn’t realised he was such a big bloke. A real handful for the defenders. I think it was his shot/cross that led to the goal for Collins.
Oppo. 4. How they won at the Mem is a mystery to me. Ref 6. Good game.
We didn’t miss Evans or Grant, two of our stand out players. Roll on Orient.

Popping on here, to give credit where it's due. As a Stevenage fan, it wasn't happy viewing yesterday, but I will say that I thought the better team won. What I wanted to mention was how good a player Elliot Anderson was. What a talent you have there, and still only 19 years old!

What I wanted to mention was how good a player Elliot Anderson was. What a talent you have there, and still only 19 years old! Sadly he’s not ours, but we’ll enjoy him whilst he’s here. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him breaking through at Newcastle in the next couple of years, where he’s highly rated.
