Sad to hear the one of England’s greatest goal scorers, Jimmy Greaves, has passed away. Jimmy played for Spurs, Chelsea, West Ham, A C Milan and England. Because of injury, Jimmy could not play in England’s World Cup final team in 1966. His replacement was Geoff Hurst, who scored the only hat trick so far in any World Cup final. RIP Jimmy.

Was without doubt one of the best natural finishers that has ever played the game.
RIP Greavsie a true legend.

Grew up with Saint and Greavsie on TV, an excellent broadcaster, but sadly too young to have seen Jimmy play in person. Have watched a lot of his goals back over the years though and what an unbelievable player and finisher. One of the best goalscorers this country has ever produced. A sad day. Thoughts and condolences to his family and friends. RIP Greavsie.

Some of the football clips you see from the 60s make the game look pretty poor by today's standards, where the overall quality is so much better in terms of pace and fitness. The true stars of the era do stand out, though, like Moore, Best and Greavsie, who looks razor sharp and fast and would have been at the top in today's game.
