I don't see where the foul happened. The keeper is allowed to stand there and then jump for the ball. He's not obliged to dive out the way of the attacker. Yes but if he jumps into him, doesn’t win it and takes him out in the process, it’s a clear foul. Players jump into each other all the time without giving fouls away. In any case, their player was jumping into our player, more. He covers more ground and has more momentum. Imagine that being two random players in the centre circle from a goal kick, it may have been given as a foul but more times than not it wouldn't be. Or imagine two players like that going at it from a corner, there's no way a ref would give a pen for it, imo. It would just be the normal chaos you get from a corner. Istm the ref has seen the position, the 'through on goal' aspect of it, 'the keeper out of his box' aspect of it, and played to that narrative.

I was proud of the boys tonight especially in the first half, maybe I’m stupid for it I don’t know but we don’t look like relegation certainty for my money. It’s a loss and we’re hurt but we’re the f*cking gas and I believe we’re league 1 next season

We wouldn't have have been 3-2 down from a nothing situation. No it would have been 2 all and Charlton would have continued to be completely on top until they did score (from enforced error or otherwise). Blaming one individual error when we we being completely dominated is unfair, and not the real cause of our defeat. Supposition. The fact is we lost by one goal which was an individual mistake.

We looked great at the start. This is a bad luck loss.
When is the ref going to give a free kick for the abuse Hanlan gets.
JB is right to say the refs are fat middle aged cvnts that dont know football (like me)
Maybe I should apply to be L1 ref next season.

Charlton were one of the worst teams to play rovers this season. They are awful. Day should have GOT a freekick not been sent off. Aneke jumped into him as day was going to head the ball. Cant believe the ref couldnt see that. Aneke also shoved kilgour as he went to head the ball, even then charlton hit the post and are lucky to find the ball coming straight back to the striker. That will be the luckiest 3 pts charlton get all season.Totally undeserved they were rubbish. Though the positive is ,if that is the standard playoff contenders are then it wont take much to be challenging next season. Meanwhile at the other end we've got Hanlan just continually falling over, why doesn't Barton tell him the next time he falls over he'll be subbed off? Idk why the Rovers coaches let him get away with it. It's embarrassing. Someone needs to tell him to stay on his feet, he's not all that bad when he does. I know he's not 100% fit but he's been poor recently.

Refs have got wise to his falling over now and he gets nothing. Needs to stop it, its putting uncalled for pressure on the team

Has anyone seen a replay? Looked a comical error from the linesman

Nearly every week seems to be a new level of frustration! Charlton there for the taking and we show our weak under belly again. I'm sick of it, man up ffs! They didn't even need to break sweat to beat us, the story of our season. Not enough men and two many boys. All three of their goals were absolute gifts. So many mistakes, a conference side would of beat us tonight. Charlton are a bang average side and that's being kind. Where we end up is where we deserve to be, and I don't think we have the guts in the team for a fight. Your right no leadership or at least not enough of them. Mc Cormick is our most ferocious fighter in the squad and he’s a kid on loan that says it all. I’m confident Barton will either build a good league 1 side next season or get us back up if we go down but I reckon it’s 50/50 and will go down to the wire.

After we went 2-0 up, the other clubs in this league would have slowed the game down as soon as the other team gets momentum. We didn’t. We let pressure build on us.
After the first goal, I got the feeling we would lose.
Being a gashead is a never ending kick in the teeth at the moment.
We just get every decision against us, every break is against us, and we give away stupid, stupid goals. What was that header? Didn’t the free kick go through the wall?
My father tonight said this team are like a delicate yet beautiful flower. Vibrant while it flowers yet ever vulnerable to the slightest breeze. I think that’s a perfect analogy of this team.

On a positive note I liked two up front.... Jonah looked fab up front.
Thought Baldwin did well ... Stockley cheated his way to soft free kicks all night.
Otherwise ...We have a few low on confidence ... Luke / Sammy particularly.
Bench was woefully light on quality ... clearly JB will be sending a few on their way in the summer ... hopefully.

Initially I thought it a mistake by kilgour by trying to head it back to day, but on the replay I think Aneke wins the head to put Washington in for the 3rd goal.

Problem is we could all see we were going to concede hence Barton brought on Little and changed the formation, but for some reason whenever he does that we then concede a goal whilst the players are getting their heads around the changes. I just don't get what manager's see in Little as he always seems a yard or two off the pace to me.

Haha this isn't court. Charlton were much better in the second half, and we looked tactically inferior. Perhaps being under enough pressure a mistake is inevitable?

Next 7 days is huge. We MUST get 4/6 points. Swindon win would make a massive difference.

It seems that Referees make up new rules for Goalkeepers, they give Free kicks for them for nothing, but also send them off like tonight for a nothing challenge. I do find it bizarre.

For me I think the issue that starts to take hold now is not the perceived or actual abilities of each player or the team as a whole but the mental/psychological thinking of the players. It becomes a mindset that as time and games slip away that no matter what they do it won’t be good enough. I know the table tells us that but how you keep players focused and thinking positively is as much part of it now as any tactics the management team can come up with.
