There is a definite weakness in this side. And that weakness is a lack of true leaders. Stick a no nonsense old head in midfield and a no nonsense true leader centre back in there and we don’t lose that game.
Biggest challenge for us moving forward is to sign a proper captain and put some ugly winners in there to let the players like Nicholson and Westbrook shine.

Is this guy on the radio drunk, he wants Ian Holloway in? Talking absolute bollocks. Go to bed Clive. Some fans obviously don't follow football in general. He probably doesn't realise Ollie's achievements since his Blackpool/Palace days. Highlights really that people should actually do their research before spouting their opinion on the radio.

If we hadn’t kicked out all our experience and replaced it all with inexperienced players with potential and very little in the way of fight we could well have seen that game out and quite possibly won it. There’s things to like about this squad but they’re badly lacking in the uglier side of the game that you need in a league 1 squad. The mistakes were made in the summer when we didn’t sack Garner and then when we sacked him later on we replaced him with an older version of Garner and then didn’t address the squad problems in the transfer Window. A catalogue of errors and I don’t blame Barton I think he’s doing as well as anyone could with this squad and I hope he stays on for next season regardless of relegation or safety but whether he will is anyone’s guess. I thought we’d lose tonight but at 2-0 up I was obviously hoping that we could show the kind of nouse and guile to see it through. Unfortunately not but to be totally honest I’m not surprised, having watched every single game this season I feel like I totally know this squad and the weak points and I’m not surprised we threw away the good that we did.

Not sure it did. We were not good enough in that second half, they were completely dominant and looked very likely to score even before Alfie's mistake. Blaming one person papers over the wider issue I'm sure it did. We lost 3-2 and their 3rd goal was from an individual mistake. And all would have been rosy is Kilgour didn't make that mistake, I assume?

Charlton were one of the worst teams to play rovers this season. They are awful.
Day should have GOT a freekick not been sent off. Aneke jumped into him as day was going to head the ball. Cant believe the ref couldnt see that.
Aneke also shoved kilgour as he went to head the ball, even then charlton hit the post and are lucky to find the ball coming straight back to the striker.
That will be the luckiest 3 pts charlton get all season.Totally undeserved they were rubbish. Though the positive is ,if that is the standard playoff contenders are then it wont take much to be challenging next season.

Far as I am concerned their player nutted our keeper 100% sending off for a ref that knew his stuff

Tonight was a sickener. Sigh... 😔 Indeed it was sickening but did anyone really expect us to come away with anything at the start of the match ? Personally I thought we played well for 70 minutes. Joey I suppose will learn from this and tighten up a bit on Saturday. The way it’s looking we are destined to finish 18th although I’d bite your hand off for 19th now. On paper that was a tough match. We go again on Saturday. UTG

I would, clear foul preventing a goal scoring opportunity. Feel sorry for Day as he’s not done anything cynical but it’s a red card. I don't see where the foul happened. The keeper is allowed to stand there and then jump for the ball. He's not obliged to dive out the way of the attacker. Yes but if he jumps into him, doesn’t win it and takes him out in the process, it’s a clear foul.

Need to recall Davies from Barrow.Did well it seems tonight in their away win. I would at this point, he'd do a better job for us than any of the rest imo

Nearly every week seems to be a new level of frustration! Charlton there for the taking and we show our weak under belly again. I'm sick of it, man up ffs! They didn't even need to break sweat to beat us, the story of our season. Not enough men and two many boys. All three of their goals were absolute gifts. So many mistakes, a conference side would of beat us tonight. Charlton are a bang average side and that's being kind. Where we end up is where we deserve to be, and I don't think we have the guts in the team for a fight.

So many things wrong tonight after we had done so well for the first half hour or so. Even at 2-2 we should have done better. Both their goals were great strikes but there is at least some question over Day's positioning.
Second half I felt JB just left it too long before introducing fresh legs*. Daly should have replaced Hanlan who was clearly struggling much earlier and then maybe we could have kept the ball better at that end of the pitch. Nicholson's replacement was enforced so no complaint - given the options on the bench. Little for Westbrooke was trying to firm things up I guess, but we're not good enough to cope with changes in formation and the quality of the Charlton fresh legs at the same time. *As I type I rechecked the bench and I think the quality there just showed the problem that JB has- yes our players were getting tired (and so also risking injury) but what did the bench have to offer him - Daly for Hanlan earlier yes, but the others.....
Really fed up now. I can't see how we can keep a performance over a whole game with the players we have and the injuries that quite a few are carrying. JB dismissed bringing in Ledley, but if he had been on the bench tonight then he has to be a better option for 35 minutes to replace Westbrooke or Nicholson than Little or the youngsters, or someone out of position?

Yet another chucked game by ridiculous defending and poor refereeing. We deserved a point at least and again should have been three or four up. Substitions didn't help. Hargreaves ,Daly or Little not good enough.Another costly error by Kilgour-time for Ehmer to be given a chance. Thought he would come on rather than Little. Got to get six points now from next two games but can't see us winning away at the moment to be honest.

We could have been 4 up, Ayunga unlucky with lob, then sammy misses a one on one, Day looked unsighted on first, free kick look poor positioning. Kilgour should have put it out, kick in the teeth after a great start. Need to win next two games, Ayunga will be on Peterborough s wish list if JCH goes, he will be tremendous in the future a real find. If Ayunga had Daly up front alongside him we would have so much more hope, The commentators were more impressed in Hanlon's work in our own box, sorry but the guy clearly needs a rest as he spent far to much time trying to get free-kicks or falling over. That said I dont get JB's substitutions more than the other two Manager's we had, he brings on Little when we are under the cosh for his first start in months and the first thing he did was to fall over.

And all would have been rosy is Kilgour didn't make that mistake, I assume? We wouldn't have have been 3-2 down from a nothing situation. No it would have been 2 all and Charlton would have continued to be completely on top until they did score (from enforced error or otherwise). Blaming one individual error when we we being completely dominated is unfair, and not the real cause of our defeat.

We’ve got to be good for 90 minutes, not just for the first 30. We were unlucky to be 2-2 at half time, truth is why hadn’t done too much wrong, had been the better team and were punished by two good strikes.
It’s how we came out for the second half, that disappointing me about that display. We sat deep, let them build pressure, couldn’t string 3 or 4 passes together or get close to their goal as we had done in the first half.
It’s pretty obvious that we aren’t as good going forward without Rodman and Nicholson, both are industrious outlets that make things happen rather than wait for it to be happen. It was always a risk that Nicholson was going to pick up a knock playing through the pain, just hope its not a bad one as we really need him.
Got to put this behind us quickly now and move on to the Plymouth encounter. This team is good enough to compete with anyone on its day, just got to be a bit more consistent and tighten up the constant errors at the back.
