I thought it was a penalty on Rodman, not on Koiki as he had the defenders arm locked under his and pulled him over as he fell.

Burton won't be easy at all. I have a feeling we might both stay up and end the season relatively well.

Was going to say on 90 mins we never looked like conceding, then goal machine Luke raises his arm, we stop and they pass it into the net. But never seen us press so much, we were intense, really impressed by Joseph. Now if we stay up and he signs his choices think we can really kick on. Why was it not a one when koiki was pulled to the floor looked definitely a pen to me. Thought we would get relegated but if we keep improving and play with that intensity we will stay up, UTG. Must keep super Luke mac. Couldn't believe that wasn't a pen, was more obvious on the replay. But then he also went blind for the trip on Rodman in the box as well so not surprised. Joey Barton as our Manager? That thug? Nah, not for me. Well, maybe a little, maybe yea ok, ok I'm sort of beginning to like the bloke, dammit if he's getting the squad to do what they did today then he's alright in my book. Bags, Joseph was a scally but that is history, if Wael can deliver the cash to match JB s infectious desire to succeed here, we are onto something good and special. After a transfer market we could be vying at the other end of the table.

Absolutely love this - you can see what the win means to all of them. I know it's very early days but Barton with his passion and the way he talks about how football should be played seems like the perfect fit for our club.Ive got such a positive feeling about this appointment. I second that icegas . Love his passion, and enthusiasm . I think he will connect brilliantly with the fans . Havenāt felt this energised and positive about the gas for a long time Utg š

Best performance all season!
I have not felt this group of players can avoid relegation - until today. We totally controlled the game by pressing high and not allowing Shrews to play.
The forced sub of Rodman seemed to shift the momentum in their favour - but until that point we were fantastic.
It's only one game, but now I have real hope that these players are good enough to not only stay up - but push on next season.

Good luck with the op Russ, and here's to a speedy recovery. 2 - 1 win for the Gas incoming. We got that one right Tilly!! Wished we hadn't with those last few minutes!! Just hope Russ is fine and happy after the op? My MOM was Westbrooke. Best game I've seen him have in the shirt! The defensive midfield pairing of Grant & McCormick are looking better every game and I think that we have to look at keeping McCormick at the end of his loan, Currently he covers almost every blade of grass, every game. Harries looked far better today and his distribution is looking as good as was expected......as long as he can cut out the odd mistakes? Got to agree with most that it was probably Hanlons best game for a while? Nicholson also looked more like the player he was before his injury. I don't what Joey said, but we definitely had the 'Barton Bounce' today, just hope it continues on Tuesday. UTG

That's probably our best performance at the Mem for 90 mins probably since we sold Harrison/bought Payne, it's a total of a transformation since the Oxford match. You clearly have an agenda against JB but you're on the losing side tonight. I don't understand how certain Gashead's would sooner be negative about the manager than positive about the team/club. If you feel that way then posting after a good win seems foolish to me. Wow! How do you get to that from my post? how is it negative about the manager? I agree with you that it was a total transformation from the Oxford game. I state in my post today was brilliant? GGMI is saying today was best of the season I am just saying if memory serves me well AFC was the best football of the season and asking if my memory is correct by checking the post match posts from then as GGMI has a skill in resurrecting old posts? I did not want JB to be manager because of my perception of him as a person. It does not mean I do not want him to be successful as it will mean we are successful. I have been watching the Gas for 52 years having seen my first game in 1969. I have had a season ticket for nearly every season since and have averaged about 20 away games a season for the last 30-40 years (some seasons 100%). Posters seem watered that I am having a 'dig' at JB which is rich and hypocritical when you look at all the previous threads and digs and downright abuse about PT, BG, Starnes and Widders. You won't find a dig at any of them from me and although I cannot be certain you will probably not find a dig from me about any manager or employee since this forum started. Just trying to put into perspective and like you I am entitled to my opinion. For what it is worth I have enjoyed JB's interviews and am hoping and praying he does not let himself down while with us. Have you got problems with your memory or something, as of all the anti JB posts the one in the link below sticks in my mind as one of the worse posted, I'm surprised the mods let it go without some kind of response. r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgasheads%2Eproboards%2Ecom%2Fthread%2F17484%2F&share_tid=17484&share_fid=111077&share_type=t&link_source=appNext manager (Barton appointed Pg 172) You've clearly got an agenda whether you deny it or not, so far it doesn't seem JB appointment is "the worse day in Rovers history".

Just what we need. A manager with the determination to get the team believing in themselves and workinh as a unit to succeed. Let's hope we can get enough points to stay up, and then go again next season. UTG

You can't help but be impressed with his knowledge and passion.
Also very kind words about Brian Williams at the end.

Great result which should give us belief that we can stay up.
Bit of a worry again with those scattergun substitutions at the end but in normal circumstances with just the three allowed it wouldn't have happened.

Nope no agenda. I was angry and disgusted at his appointment, I have said that before and made that very clear. It does not mean every comment I make since is part of an agenda. your response still does not explain why your previous comment is me being negative about the manager unless you have the agenda because you were happy with the appointment and I wasn't? I will continue to have an opinion, if you don't agree with it that is your privilege but please be reasonable and fair and not make claims about me personally and claim to know what I am thinking Anyway this must be boring everyone else so we should stop and agree to disagree. If you want to carry on by all means PM me and I will either reply or not
