What do all you socialists think about Corbyn being suspended from the Labour Party? And to think you wanted him as PM !!! Don't see myself as a socialist, I'd certainly shudder at the thought of being likened to some who do. Very pleased he's been suspended, should had been done years ago. Didn't want him as PM and certainly didn't vote FOR him, I voted tactically against Boris. How do you define a socialist? Do you see a difference between that and a Marxist, Social Democrat, Christian Democrat, Communist, etc?

I voted tactically in the last election, basically I wanted anyone but a Tory government and especially a Tory government led by the clown Boris and his cabinet stuffed full of sycophantic right wing loons . I knew they’d be a disaster for the country and unfortunately it’s proving right. They handled the brexit negotiations terribly , we’re boxed in and any deal we get will be worse than before ( well that was bloody obvious!) and they’ve royally f**ked up with the pandemic. Thinking ‘they’ know better than anyone and everyone else but they didn’t & don’t. Hopefully it looks like Labour are getting their act together, this country is going to be crying out for a change in direction in 4 yrs time . Populism doesn’t work and that’s what Boris & his cohorts are .

What do all you socialists think about Corbyn being suspended from the Labour Party? And to think you wanted him as PM !!! Well I think it's more complicated than you're making it out to be. He wasn't suspended due to the EHRC report; he was suspended due to his response to it. The EHRC report was completely reasonable and although it didn't take certain things into account that I think could justify some of it to a certain extent, such as arguments of whether a criticism of Israel as a state in its current format constitutes antisemitism or whether anti-zionism constitutes antisemitism, but that's not to excuse it. The party's handling, from Corbyn and others, of this issue over the past 5 years has honestly been awful. However, I think Corbyn did have a point. Corbyn's main objection was actually stating a fact, in a Survation poll conducted in 2019, the findings were that the average number that people fell upon in the public as to what proportion of people in the Labour Party had complaints about antisemitism lodged against them, the average was around 34%, in fact it was 0.3%; that's why Corbyn said it was exaggerated. The Tory party certainly exploited it and in terms of factional in-fighting, well, just look at the Labour Report. Corbyn's comments were genuinely really quite appalling given the circumstances of why he was being interviewed and the context, but I really don't think what he said is wrong, and I really don't see his suspension being upheld when it comes under inspection, because Corbyn made it very clear in his speech that 1. the Labour Party handled antisemitism cases far too slowly and 2. the Labour Party had an issue with antisemitism. These things are not mutually exclusive with "it was exaggerated," it's appalling that he said that in that context on that day, and really, really stupid, but it's not wrong, so I can't say that the suspension was justified. As for whataboutery it's not the best in this case but the Conservatives promised an investigation into islamophobia into the Conservative Party over a year ago and there's been no progress whatsoever. And it's not a shocker, two thirds of Britain First members joined the Conservative Party in 2019, and 43% of Tory party members when polled said they didn't want a Muslim as Prime Minister; which seems to have been completely forgotten about. Could you imagine the media's reaction if that was the Labour Party under Corbyn? Again both are inexcusable, but it's just a bit hypocritical, if you voted tory that is. If you voted for neither then good on you francegas

If you voted for neither then good on you francegas If anti-semitism was really that big a deal to the Tories they wouldn’t have voted for Boris. You don’t get a pass to choose which flavour of prejudice tastes best to you, you’re just a hypocrite. Plain and simple. It’s why of all the things I criticise the government for islamophobia or Johnson’s race oriented comments won’t be one of them (unless it’s to point out the hypocrisy) because both labour and Tory voters have no moral high ground to stand on when it comes to prejudice. It’s worth also remembering when this subject comes up that people don’t care about it enough to vote accordingly. How come the two parties with dubious attitudes to various minorities hold the most seats? It says it all. Prejudice is just a smoke screen to beat the opposition with whilst pretending you give a sh** about the issue. People don’t care enough to vote differently over it, at the end of the day.

[br Basically said Stalin is his idol. Haha. Stalins Marxist theory was awful but I can see the authoritarian qualities trump would relish.

Been a bit quiet in here recently. Did you guys forget to invite me to the revolution? There was a typographical cock up with the pamphlet printing. This sadly resulted in a lawsuit from the people of Tenby when we accidentally canvassed people to 'Take The Gower Back'

Went for a walk on the weekend, saw one of those free libraries where people give/leave books for each other. Saw an absolute classic, superb piece of literature
