Funny how the hate and vitriol when we have had a bad result is never matched by the praise and credit for a good one. Yes awful long way to go but w2 d1 l2 given our opening 5 fixtures is not too bad. Let's just enjoy the moment, BG may yet surprise his critics.

I've certainly praised Garner and the team.

Great win
Don’t know why but I fancied us today
I also carelessly frittered another £2 bet on both teams to score and Rovers, Ipswich and Peterboro to win
Never in my life have I screamed come on Northampton
My measly £2 was one goal away from £316.06p
My £1.50 on us winning the league is looking less reckless by the week.

an away win is a further step forward, no doubt, against a team that is in form and the commentary was full of praise for the defensive work compared to Doncaster so it seems like there has been change. But while there is evidence of defensive improvements I’m still not convinced there are enough goals in this team. Everyone mocks the “Garner needs penalties to win” stat but there is a serious point there- forgive me if I’m wrong but no team has ever had a penalty in every league game of their season. The odd penalty here and there is great but we have to be able to score two goals a game on our own merits from open play yet we’ve had to rely on those penalties more than our own scoring ability. So overall some humble pie for this particular result in isolation, but I’m still very sceptical that the last three games are going to have a positive snow ball effect long term. I respect what you are saying but' for one Saturday night can we just enjoy three points away from home, have a beer, enjoy and worry about everything else during the week UTG Hey don’t blame me, it’s how things are at the moment where one win and people who don’t see Garner as some sort of messiah get called out. So that was my response to the “wear r ya?!11” posts.

Really pleased for BG who has had so much disappointment both on and off the field since his arrival.

A good performance today and a deserved win.
Thought the back three were comfortable on the ball and solid defensively. A good unit. McCormick played well and was very busy, moved the ball well and got in some good positions where he was unlucky with a couple of attempts at goal. Grant did his job effectively and broke up play when needed. Daly worked his socks off and deserved his goal. Hanlan was excellent and worked the channels well, held the ball up, worked hard and generally never gave the Lincoln defence a moment's rest. My MOTM was between Hanlan and Tutonda and they would have to share the award as both were excellent. Tutonda's energy and quality up and down the left is a real asset and I thought he did both defensive and attacking parts of his game really well today. Gem of a player.
Well done Rovers. Onwards and upwards now, let's keep the winning run going.

I’ve stupidly done an accy of £3 for The Gas, MK Dons and Wigan to all win Another splurge of £2 on Rovers, Ipswich and Peterborough to win, both teams to scoreI know you shouldn’t put your own team on any sensible bets as it’s head ruling the heart, but for some silly reason I’m feeling optimistic about today Why not? Lads confident, and a resounding 3-1 win on the cards Noticed Rovers are currently 275-1 to win the league Only 2 teams less fancied than us- Northampton and Rochdale! Might push the finances and stick £1.50 on that! UTG Fair play! That must have paid out well. Peterborough won 2-0

This kind of sounds like moaning for the sake of moaning. The ref doesn't hand out penalties for free. You need to force your opponent into a mistake in their box. If we got a penalty every game it wouldn't be through luck. It’s not moaning it’s statistics, if we average 2 goals a game, 1 of which is a penalty, what happens when we get denied a blatant pen? Where is the second goal coming from? I’m happy to change my opinion if you can show me a league one side that got penalties in over 50% of their games in any season.

We won, didn't give away a penalty despite the pressure. We won. We played well. We won That's it

Lincoln, penalties in 66% is their games this season

Great result ,really did not think we would get anything today, to be honest for being top of the league and in good form Lincoln offered very little. But great all round performance from the gas

I'd argue that the vast majority of blatant pens would get given. You've still got to be in a decent position to force a penalty. Just enjoy the win. We created chances today. One of them forced a penalty. We won. If you're gonna try and knit pick about winning penalties maybe it's better finding something else to do on a Saturday.

Didn’t see the game or follow it but delighted to get a win. Reading Lincoln fans’ comments it really sounds deserved too, not often you read an opposing view and they seem to say the same as ours, fair play to them.
Could Northampton have been a turning point?
Thank god we didn’t sack Ben after getting thrashed in penalties again Oxford in the stupid cup, as some seemed to have wanted.

What I have seen so far this season is how 'dirty' and 'niggly' some of the opposition have been ... Lincoln today, Northampton last week, Sunderland
Ipswich were ok but then they were comfortable all game ... Even Doncaster were falling over constantly ...
Can anyone confirm or deny please that we have an option on McCormick at the end of his loan spell? Lad is settling in really well, has energy by the bucket load and could be a terrific signing for us.

A thouroughly deserved victory and many great performances things are starting to come together. It looks like BG now knows his best 11 and they are all going to be kept on there toes by players who are not starting. The Oxford performance should not underestimated as yes it was only the noone cares trophy but the fringe players put in a great display which shows there is good competition all over the park and if you don't perform there is someone waiting to step in. Enjoy the rest of the weekend Gasheads I know I am UTG

Fair play! That must have paid out well. Peterborough won 2-0 Don’t rub it in! I was going to invest in League One Winners T-shirts and then with the winnings from my £1.50 @275/1 I was going to get a stall in the fruit market just as the stadium is being built (24,000 capacity with option to expand) (ecological masterpiece) (real architectural treasure) and this time next year with us higher than the Teds (ok ok it’s only 5 games......) I’m sitting pretty and my silly little bets are paying for that dream signed Gerry Francis poster and a worn Steve Yates shirt Now it’s back to square one.

Apologies - I misread the post and thought you’d put in Portsmouth, not Peterborough. Very unlucky.
