He did an alright job with them tbh, inherited the club rock bottom of the Championship and led them to safety. I'm sure for Huddersfield who were in the Premier League last year, this season has been a big disappointment for them but at least the Cowleys gave them something to build on.
They would be a top appointment for us definitely but I think their next job will be managing a struggling Championship club or a Portsmouth/Sunderland in L1.

It’s their first real setback after a seamless ascent, Concord, Braintree, Lincoln now Huddersfield. But having saved Huddersfield perhaps their reputation hasn’t been too damaged. According to the Huddersfield forum they had been talking to City! But it’s probably conspiracy theory more than anything, they got the sack a bit too late for City I’d have thought. What is interesting, to me anyway, is the fact that most Lincoln on their forum don’t particularly want them back. Neither Lincoln nor Huddersfield spoke highly of the football style. If not now then they will return soon at a decent club and I’m sure they’ll do well out of their 2/3 years of contract left at Huddersfield. UTG!

Agricultural style of football and didn't get the best out of the players he had at Huddersfield. The win % was mostly achieved at at non-league and latterly League Two level, which is where his style is best suited.

Whilst you're correct about the level in which their results were achieved, nonetheless they did achieve success. Two promotions and a cup win at both Concord and Lincoln is mega impressive irrespective of the enjoyability of the football on display, no? So I guess my question is: over-rated where? Championship level? L1? Or just in general (in the sense that a lot of Average Joe's seem to believe they're the lower-league management version of Batman and Robin)?

Overrated for potential League One/Championship roles and in general, i.e. being 'media darlings' to some extent.
