New deal on its way. "The Financial Times reports that the annual amount the UK pays to France is expected to increase to €72m (£63m) in 2022 to 2023, from €62.7m (£54.8m) for 2021 to 2022. The UK government has sent a total of €200m (£174.8m) to Paris to police the border since 2018, while France spends around €250m (£218.6m) every year dealing with all matters related to the British border. French officials said the number of officers patrolling to stop small boat crossings will increase from 200 to 300 by mid-2023 under the new agreement, the newspaper reported, with the UK covering additional monitoring costs. It added that the deal also plans for a French operations centre to be reinforced, while British border force officers will be present as observers for the first time, all while respecting France's sovereignty." news.sky.com/story/uk-and-france-clinch-new-agreement-on-migrants-as-suella-braverman-travels-to-paris-12746737

With the budget/statement coming out on Thursday, watch out for more slights of hand to make cuts without making them sound as bad as they really are.
The other way is to freeze tax rates so that more people are caught.

Interesting interpretation. OBR suggesting disposable income down 7% over the next two years.
Did I see a review of the State Pension mentioned?

Farage only got popular because he peddled anti EU and Brexit propaganda. He has subsequently been proven a fool so would be surprised if anyone fell for his particular brand of bullshit again. I was surprised that over half the country thought Brexit was a good idea. I was surprised that people thought Liz Truss was our best choice as PM. People are idiots. Yeah I know exactly how you feel. Although I think a better way of putting “ people are idiots” is British people are unbelievably gullible and believe what the mainstream media say and tell them to do. Generally People in other countries think for themselves and are much less likely to fall for the kind of right wing facist propaganda that our electorate consistently falls for.

Did you hear his war on woke speech nonsense, absolutely cringe worthy but he’s playing to the MAGA nutters I guess ? Still a very dangerous man not to be taken likely.
